greenbee Hello! How is the man?
Hello yourself :D The man is OK... finding the whole process of sorting things out with his ex and kids harder than he (but not I) expected from an emotional perspective. Then again, if he hadn't been the kind of person who cared, I wouldn't want to be with him would I?

Wow, greenbee you are doing a lot of things at the same time! I hope your Christening cake is okay.

Just heard they have broken down. Good thing we took pigpen's advice and packed a Winter survival kit. They have Twinks, sleeping bags, hot chocolate and chocolate.
Hope they get back OK. And I hope everyone who hasn't done their car survival kit uses this as a reminder to get it done!

I'm not actually doing that much at the moment... Haven't managed to work out how to put information into the appraisal system, so have to wait for OH to help after reflexology tonight (but I have all the data I need!). Cake is nearly done, so fingers crossed it turns out OK. One lot of towels to fold. One lot of bedding in the dryer. One more load of washing to do and then I need to clear the stuff off the ironing board so I can do the ironing.

I took some paperwork up to the school earlier and dragged OH (who had just got here) out for a walk - when we got back we heeled in the last few plants that still hadn't been done. They may not survive, but they've got to have a better chance than if we'd left them out in their pots.

I'm away next week (well hopefully, depending on the weather) as we have a work thing in Edinburgh and are then going to have a few days holiday in scotland (OH is a scot, although he's never lived there), so I need to ask my neighbour to rescue any deliveries that are abandoned outside by delivery people while I'm away. I don't want all my christmas presents damp/frozen!
  • I will be stropping at them tomorrow. And probably at the newsagent woman who told the girls, 'well you can't stay in here' and sent them back outside. And the police, who refused to let him drive his car a quarter of a mile down a straight bit of road to collect them, but sent him back down into the traffic where he is still trapped now. And the idiot drivers who caused the traffic problems in the first place by flooring the accelerators and/or yanking up brakes when skidding. And the picker-upper, as he refused to go and get her earlier, as 'it's character-forming. In my day, we didn't have mummy and daddy picking us up. And the bus will be running, as the road will be gritted'.

But, as long as DD has got to this person's house, at least she isn't frozen in a ditch somewhere.

Evening all - hope those with snow are coping OK and that your DD is safe and warm Jo-Jo

We had tiny flakes of snow this morning and again this afternoon but it didn't settle. It's not quite as cold as yesterday but certainly not warm.

But, off to finish those applications.... ~sigh~

Tuesday ~ Living room, Hallway, stairs!Done!!!!
I have done everything I can. And I am quite pleased with myself.
Toots Thanks.I am feeling positive that we can do something to help him. Because we are so rural we can get GP appointments quickly which is a bonus.

Greenbee It does show how important it is to be prepared for the weather.

I have heard from the police that no one should attempt to travel around here. I bet DH will still try to get home no matter what.

I smiled when I read you had heeled in plants today. I ordered 150 free bulbs from Suttons and the day they arrived we had snow on the ground.

    Hello All,

Back in after taking DH to his Outpatients App.

Taken DD to her friends house 4 miles away, lots of people out who can't drive at all, let alone in fluffy stuff.

M25 blocked solid from Jcn 25 round to Jcn 5, thats over 20 miles.

So all the side roads and the A2 are chocka block, pulled several people up and out of places they didn't want to be, to where they did. All good fun, if you used to it.

That's awful Jojo - you kick some butt tomorrow.

I've just put another load of washing on. Tomorrow's tea is already done as DH decided he wanted something different to what I'd cooked so I've cooked 2 meals tonight.

I'll see what I manage to get done later.

    Hugs

I woke up at 4.40 am, as the streetlight was reflecting off the snow...I didn't get back to sleep before the alarm went off at 6.15. The journey to work took nearly an hour longer, although I was only a few minutes late for my first lesson. Left promptly this afternoon - there isn't much snow near school, but quite a lot at home, and if we get more or it freezes tonight, I'm very unlikely to be able to get out of the close and onto the main road tomorrow.

Little bit concerned for DS2, as he had an ICT conference in London, and trains have been disrupted. He's on the train now, so I'll pick him up in an hour.

Love and hugs, especially for both the bears , polly and pooh.
