DD is stranded. Her school chucked them out at 1pm without checking that the buses were still running. After waiting for over an hour, she called me and said that they were going to walk back part of the way if someone could pick them up. An hour later, the picker-upper is still trapped in traffic, the girls are soaking wet, freezing and sobbing. They got taken in by the receptionist at the child health clinic, but that closed at 3.30, so they are now walking in the dark to a distant relative of one of the friends and I have to work out how to get there with no public transport. At least she could give me the address she was going to just before her phone died on her.
I am NOT having a good day.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

My sister arrived this morning so hubby decided that we should go and get DD's santa pressie and some clothes for Rhys. All done now so feeling a little bit more relaxed. Plan tonight is to go through my wardrobe and see what needs to go.... I don't think i'll have much left.:rotfl:
Need to put sister's photoes on the laptop and get my camera charged. House is coming down with stuff that needs to be ebayed.
Sparkleworld congrats and how lovely.
Jojo what a mess, hope DD gets home ok.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

jojo, That is terrible! Sorry teachers, but my experience is that some are extremely selfish and forget they should put the care of young people first.
It happened to mine once and I was a teacher at the school. It was on my day off, we were shopping, they ended up spending the night at a foster parent's house as we couldn't get to them. They were all (four of them) sent in the opposite direction to our house.
I hope they manage to get somewhere warm soon and that you can collect her. How worrying.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I once moved my car and sat in the house with everything switched off because I knew exH was bringing the Vallikids back 2 hours early because they had told me but he hadn't checked with me if that was OK. I figured that that way he might learn not to assume I was there to have the kids back at his whim. Had he bothered to tell me he'd been invited to a wedding it would have been a different matter. This was when they were too young to be left. Anyway, they couldn't get in - no keys

greenbee Hello! How is the man? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
JoJo that is incredible - I was just going to say you need to complain but pigpen has beaten me too it - how totally irresponsible are they? Who ever made the decision to send them home should be sacked! I hope the girls are ok and get home safely soon - make sure you sort out the school tomorrow and a letter to the appropriate places wouldnt go wrong either - I am gobsmacked!!!!
LameWolf thanks for the extra ideas - I realised after I read the RSPB site I had porridge oats so have cleared a space to put some out for the morning - hope you are feeling better
pooh huge squishy (((hugs))) angel - what a shame for DS1 - I hope he will feel better when he is at home for a wee while and yes it does sound like he could do with bereavement counselling - do you think he will do it? Is your GP any good for getting a referral quickly? No wonder you are worried - not only about DS but now all 3 men are out in the weather - I hope they get home safe soon or can take shelter somewhere safe and warm. you know where i am if you need me xx
Pollybear continued love and hugs -it will be very strange for a while.
Congratulations aunty sparkleword and welcome to the world to your teeny weeny nieces - I hope they and their Mum are ok - they should have waited a bit longer - its toooooooo cold for such littlies!
AuntyCrafty oh the poor removal men -I would not want to be moving in or out today! We had another inch or so over night and more big flakes this afternoon - Hope you are keeping warm xxx
grateful take it easy - stars are only for this week to kick start the Christmas preparations!!!
I took a a taxi to the post office and got rid of 9 ebay things and my mothers birthday present - they said they were not sure when they would go but I am not worried - I have dealt with them and thats fine.
I went into Mr A on the way back and there were a lot of empty shelves:eek: I guess people are stocking up a bit because of the weather.
need to go rustle something for tea!
