Thanks for the snow reports, he's just left with lots of warm clothing, juice and biscuits, and he promised me he'd buy a shovel on the way! He wont be on his own which is some comfort.

I managed to sort most of the living room carp into piles that now need to be moved to their respective homes, mostly toys which go in the freezing cold conservatory. Just scoffing a sandwich because I realised I hadn't eaten today and I was getting shaky. Going to give DS2 his apple puree now, carry on in the LR for a bit and hopefully get it hoovered, then give him his milk feed at 1 and go to Mr T, then tackle the kitchen (which actually isn't too bad) when I get back. Will be back for some HHC's then.

Wow, my postman just came and he was wearing shorts! Are they mad?!
    So, there are these boys,
    They kinda stole my heart,
    They call me Mummy

I've sat on my bum since my last post. :o In a really CSA mood and it's cold. Right gonna force myself to do a small list and work on it.

    To do now.
    1) Lift Rhys's toys and put away.
    2) Clear fireplace.
    3) Dust everywhere.
    4) Wipe sofa and chairs.
    5) Hoover livingroom.
    6) Put more washing on.
    7) Hang up wet washing.
    8) Fill coal bucket and bring in a couple of sticks.
    9) Wipe bottom of fireplace.

Working on the livingroom until i warm up. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    [STRIKE]
    Level One
    Declutter and mop/vacuum floor
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
    Level Two
    Wipe units and large appliances
Give one small appliance a good clean!
Wipe out the fridge and defrost freezer
    Level Three
Wipe the table, replace the cloth if needed and dust and deweb!
Shine any steel/aluminium. (dab of oil on a dry mf cloth works wonders)
    Clean through a cupboard
    [/STRIKE]

    Extras
    1. Clean the oven and hob
    2. Wipe down all the paintwork
    3. Clean sockets and switches
    4. Dust and deweb.
So excited to have done all 3 levels and will move onto the extras after lunch.

The kids are still up in Durham at the in laws. My FIL is so, so funny as he loves to overexaggerate. Allegedly they have at least 2 foot of snow in their back garden, which is strange as that is over the height of the twins who have been out helping him shovel - very amusing.

I am desperate to go out for a run but think running in wellies might be a little silly!

Going to have a think about which cupboard to sort out and will mop the floor later as plan on going out soon.

Hellyboo my postman was wearing shorts this morning too! He pushes a massive trolley thing and says he gets far too hot in trousers after 5mins!

No snow here in Sussex yet, but it is absolutely freezing. I had the ensuite & bedroom windows open this morning while I did the school run (stupid condensation is getting awful) and when I got home instead of disappearing, the condensation had frozen :rotfl: Nevermind! I scrubbed it off and shut the windows quick!

    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Wipe units and large appliances[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Give one small appliance a good clean![/STRIKE] - microwave
Wipe out the fridge [STRIKE]and defrost freezer[/STRIKE] - freezer doesn't need doing again yet.
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe the table, replace the cloth if needed and dust and deweb![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Shine any steel/aluminium. (dab of oil on a dry mf cloth works wonders)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean through a cupboard [/STRIKE] - not a cupboard, but I cleared the top of my cooker hood which we used for storing ermm.. carp! All shiny (thanks to the tip about oil on stainless steel - it looks newer than it did when it was actually new!) and now there are boxes of cereal & the 'treat' tin up there. Looks so much better and makes the whole kitchen look nicer.

    Extras
    1. Clean the oven and [STRIKE]hob[/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Wipe down all the paintwork[/STRIKE]
    3. [STRIKE]Clean sockets and switches[/STRIKE]

    Also need to:

    Print travel insurance documents.
    [STRIKE]WM[/STRIKE]/launderette.
DS swimming 4.30pm (must remember to take his swimming bag when I pick him up!!)
    Sort out some dinner.

    I've also:

Cleaned the kitchen windows & back door
Thrown away all the old chopping boards
    Cleaned the breadmaker
    DW
Put more washing in the WM
    Cleared the living room floor
    Emptied the bin
Finally worked out how to set the timer on our boiler (only took me 5yrs :rotfl:)
Cleared out the bottom of the boiler cupboard (where we keep plastic pots, sandwich bags, foil etc)
Washed the plant pots on the kitchen windowsill
Put some soda crystals down the kitchen sink & scrubbed it til it shined

Woooooo I'm doing well today! Going to pick up DD now and then go through the fridge when we get back and give it a wipe, and hopefully stumble across something for dinner.

  • Well in my HHC (which ended up an hour) I ironed, ironed, ironed and ironed some more. There is still more to do because my ironing pile is soooo high, but at least I feel like I'm getting somewhere with it now.

DH is still in bed not feeling great so I think I'd better switch the iron off and get some lunch sorted. Not feeling very inspired so it might just be beans on toast. The kitchen will be tackled as lunch is prepared I think.
  • Twinmum I went to the coop and on my path and drive the snow was mid calf lenght on me and in 5ft 8, so its probably a foot and a bit on my drive, the bits where ive shoveld the snow, you are definetly looking at waist height.

just enjoy being child free as long as possible :)

well ive done no housework but i have cleared a path from my door to the drive and round one side of the car and at the back and put some grit down and also decluttered a cuppa!

Who is going to join me in a 1 and a bit HHC?
  • Aunty Crafty are you ok honey - you have been quiet - I suspect you are well and truly snowed in so dont be doing anything foolish like trying to walk anywhere or clearing paths!

ok had better get the head down and batter on!

    tootsxx
Sorry, toots, you are too late:rotfl:
I hadn't been out since last Tues, mainly because my sore throat turned into a cold and then the snow came. However this morning I cleared my front path and steps, then went to hairdresser and got milk from the shop.
Got caught in a heavy snow shower on the way there, much to the amusement of my hairdresser (I do like going to a place where you get joked with:)) then got caught in another one on the way back so now I am back in I ain't going nowhere.
And we just had lightning and a massive thunder rumble:eek:
I've been lurking but not posting, but if I am not going out I need to stop drifting and get doing.
OK - before anyone starts chucking fluffy mules - I did run the WM before I went out and made the C** Cake last week.
