  • No hope of stars here just gentle dotting about due to grotty chest infection making me rather breathless and for once will have a few days off work as need this to go.

My list for this week, mostly on my bottom things, or supervising things

    DS homework
Christmas cards - find list, make a start
DS card list for class & friends, help with "doing"!
Find Advent calendar & fill with bits
Online grocery shop or two (arrange one for nearer the day)
Sort piles on desk & file
    Church website
Christmas cake - DS to weigh & mix - me to watch in temperamental oven
Pea & ham soup to make - trotters in the freezer, and as I'll be here for a couple of days...
Allow DS to do as much hoovering as he wants!

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.
  • Dusty thanks angel for keeping an eye on the completed listlists- so far I am keeping up with them! My goodness you are on a roll today - has the stars given you a 'kick'?
LameWolf - be careful and not make your flare up any worse - what about a total relaxing day/ snoozing/ in bed would that help? I take my hat of to you for your determination not to let it get the better of you - we could all take a leaf out of your book and not let silly little things bring us down when we see how much you deal with (((hugs)))
Aunty you are naughty but so long as you are being careful I will let you off - apparently the thunder and ligthning we are experiencing in the UK is because of an electric storm snowstorm over Siberia!
Just remembered something I need to put on my list - yes, toots (I know your long memory) it has appeared before - I need to use the laptop downstairs.
Realised that particularly last week I was coming up to the pc for 5mins with a cuppa and getting stuck here too CBA to move.
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
gravitytolls - welcome to the thread (am I right in thinking you have been here before - the name seems familiar!) I have sent you a pm to help you along - the dot2dot works really well and so does "Dont put it down put it away" (Thank you Valli x) it is difficult finding homes for everything but if you can and always put things back you will find it is much easier to clean round - maybe try to do some decluttering too.
Sunnygirl hello I wondered where you had gone - sorry to see DD has tonsilitis - hope it clears soon and poor DH - sounds very painful - is it about 6 weeks before he can do things? I hope the pain eases and then he wont have to take so many strong painkillers - that in itself will help him to heal - its horrible feeling spaced out and zombie like - BTDT!!!!
toochoosey (((hugs))) and loads of get well wishes - sounds like you are having a bad time - look after yourself and keep warm - drink plenty too.
MummyEm of course you can join in - try and stick with us until the New Year as we all have to keep on top of things and pigpen's list keep us on track - will add you onto lists later.
ajmoney well the a9 from Dunblane to Perth is still closed and I heard that the m90 to Edinburgh was closed this morning - we are expecting more snow this evening
MOAM take care and I hope you feel better very soon (((hugs)))

have been busy running off invoices for ebay stuff and wrapping so now have 10 parcels ready to go.

a lovely lady from the Church phoned to see if I needed anything as she lives a few streets away and would walk to my house - she's only 81!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a lovely thought!!!!:A

And one of the carers was passing and popped in to give me lunch - she wasnt meant to be but knew my carer wasnt going to manage - there are some nice people out there.:A

    catch up later
    tootsxx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last

by 'eck, there's a draught coming under this door.

Well, it appears everybody has survived the marathon beer and curry blowout at our flat: I won't be surprised at whatever is waiting for me when I get home. They had vindaloo curry for breakfast - well, probably brunch. The dreaded visitor has gone home; Him Indoors will be on the settee for the rest of the day catching up on a weekend's TV and probably parping for England:D

So I think I'll not make any flying promises till I've seen the devastation. This week's going to be the big sort for the Vintage fair on Saturday (pray for good weather!) and some ebaying to clear a few more bits. Have decided that my cut off point for ebay and Amazon will be 8th December so it's all done and dusted...!

ETA:Put me down for the Ironing challenge!

As ever, toots, you have found the words for what the rest of us think.

Do you really have to make the journey?
Can you check with the police? They have been advising people not to travel and I see no sign of it improving.

[STRIKE]Shine any steel/aluminium. (dab of oil on a dry mf cloth works wonders)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean through a cupboard [/STRIKE] - not a cupboard, but I cleared the top of my cooker hood which we used for storing ermm.. carp! All shiny (thanks to the tip about oil on stainless steel - it looks newer than it did when it was actually new!) and now there are boxes of cereal & the 'treat' tin up there. Looks so much better and makes the whole kitchen look nicer.

    2. [STRIKE]Wipe down all the paintwork[/STRIKE]
    3. [STRIKE]Clean sockets and switches[/STRIKE]

Put more washing in the WM
    Cleared the living room floor
    Emptied the bin
Finally worked out how to set the timer on our boiler (only took me 5yrs :rotfl:)
Cleared out the bottom of the boiler cupboard (where we keep plastic pots, sandwich bags, foil etc)
Washed the plant pots on the kitchen windowsill
Put some soda crystals down the kitchen sink & scrubbed it til it shined

Phew!! Can't believe i actually finished a list :rotfl:

Fish pie is made ready to pop in the oven when we get back from swimming, now I need to get a shift on and pick up DS, who wants to go and 'save' the ducks before swimming. The pond was all iced over so he found a stick and wants to go back and break up some of the ice so they can swim!
