    Morning everyone!

Happy weekend and gardening if you get out there. I can't wait to start to do something after a) I finish my assignment due in on Monday 1500 words to go halfway there and b) it warms up a bit more as its nippy, cold, grey and miserable here day after day

Well I'm full of a nasty cold caught at work so its a weekend inside writing and reading for the assignment dreaming of next weekend free from studying and deciding what to bake this weekend for next week

Some kind of muffins I think with whats in and some dough in the BM for rolls to freeze

Deep fried cream eggs, lush :D

We get most stuff south of the border as we are a little Scottish enclave, so Scotch pies, tablet, Scotch rolls, pan bread and square sausage galore :). We can also get the Sunday Post, although I refuse to buy it since I found out Francis Gay didn't really exist . Apparently it's just been different journalists over the years ;).

We also get Irish stuff - red lemonade and Taytos anyone? :D

    Lucky you GG :D

Can't believe I forgot Tablet!!!! I can also get the Sunday Post but may have to forego this pleasure if Francis Gay REALLY doesn't exist, please say this isn't so

Not sure about deep fried Creme Eggs but that is probably because I don't like them anyway! We used to have a Pancake place in Cambridge that made sweet pancakes out of any choccie - used to love the Malteser one but found the Work Rest and Play a bit sweet :rotfl:

had my final allotment meeting last night as part of the committee yay! and am all raring to go at the allotment this weekend. fingers crossed the weather will stay dry. Just wondering what's the best way to go with the plot, probably losing the plot is the best thing.
    Don't lose it enjoy it!!

I have always been confused about turnips/swedes and you are not helping me!
(your mum was right!!) (not for the clip round the ear)
I am the child of scottish parents, brought up in england. Got sent up the shop for a turnip and the shopkeeper sent me home with the white one. Cue clip round the ear from Mum saying you know turnips are orange. After that I just brought back the opposite to what she asked for!

Hugs Pippi, all this talk of Granny* is bringing a lump to my throat so I have no idea what it is doing to you! Love the no black rule too, I have never worn black anyway as it makes me look awful, navy or dark brown usually does instead. But I think in this instance you have to find a way to incorporate stripes in to your outfit :)

    * My Mum longed to be a Granny and from the minute we found out she was going to be one we all (family, friends, and grandchildren) called her Granny and she loved it, being a Granny was the thing she loved most in the world :D At her funeral the Vicar started off by saying some of you here will know her as Mum, Aunt, Jean or Mrs M but the title she was proudest of was Granny so that is what I am going to call her today. She would have loved that :)

Oooh, my favourite! I have either a haggis or white pudding supper when I am over the border. Either at Valente's in Kirkcaldy, or my sister's chip shop in Wick! Now I am feeling really hungry...I can almost smell the batter......:drool:

    :( Sorry, 'tis true :(

Yes KC and some of my friends who still live there say that they get up to layers of particulates on their cars in the mornings.

 I thought that just belonged to history now! omigod
Pretty little theatre in Ellesmere Port KC?! Where's that then?! Do you mean the Civic Hall? I used to do pantomimes there when I wasa kid, and we had my auntie's 50th in the back room a few weeks back - brought back a few memories :rotfl:
That must be it - one of the charity performances my ballet school did after I'd left (that I came back to perform in) was in Ellesmere Port, thats the only reason I know it :o Fancy you being there so recently, nice one :)

(((((((((Pippi and family)))))))))))) must be so tough :( Love your granny saying no black :T Hope you do wear stripes if you think she'd have appreciated it. Good on you keeping busy, gardening class sounds utterly fab! :T I do indeed know the transport fiasco very well... Poor you, not what you need right now! :( Hope you figure it out. Let us know if we can do anything xx
Seconded from me - it must indeed be very tough. I know the travel expenses are high, but I'm glad you're going to go to the funeral, it sounds like you need that time - and you really sound like you need to remember that you're mourning, Pippi. Not sure what the transport fiasco is, I obviously haven't read that bit carefully enough - but seconding Cheery's offer to do anything if I can.

  • Morning all

whirlwind tidy round the house = flylady be proud - all clean only stairs and upstairs living room to do.

Thank you all for the good wishes - OH's told me not to worry about money and these trips (sweetie) - I've blown 2 years travel budget in one month - but its important to go.

I'm about to list seeds - had more success since I've been doiong free postage - and as things aren't heavy its fine to offer that one!

Wish me luck I'm my entire list to start listing iyswim.

Nice day here - teaching at 3.30 - lots to do before then - hens fed, eggs to sort out - eggs seem to be finding a nice little equilibrium - we've enough to eat but we also never have any spare - girls are upto 9 a day (from ten chookie lasses) thats fine enough.

New hen house to order (early birthday pressie) and they are going to be back in their summer run quite soon :)

I've to look at my cleared area at work for propagating - I think he's done me a heated bench (I only wanted a bit of floor/bench space) so I might have been given far more than I asked for.

    Yippee

The writing is slow - can't get my head into it.

    Waves hello to all

Keiss - when in KDY - you must be right beside OH's flat - !!!!

Pippi, have you tried looking at BigBus and BigTrain websites for the travel. Also you can sometimes get a good deal on the overnight sleepers if you shop around. Not much use I am afraid other than that. Loving the idea of the basil and chives, might nip to lido later. I was in a town 40 miles away during the week and they have an Aldi where they were selling bay meditteranean trees at £14. Lavender, Basil, rosemary and olives not to mention the lemon and lime (with fruit on). I was so good not to blow my monthly budget on them though.
