Morning Pippi, I second the stripes. I think she was a very wise lady - no black is the way to go out. I say that I want the song "I have had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing as the song that plays as the curtains close. Went to a funeral last year for Mr Cs uncle (who we discovered was my Dads best friend and I had known him since I was 5 but we never connected it as I didnt meet him as his uncle) and he had Thats Life by Frank Sinatra played. At the end of the song we all stood up and clapped (well except Mr Cs dad who is a bit of astick in the mud and told us all off) and it was a lovely way to celebrate his life.
Whatever you wear I hope that you can at some point in the day feel that you have celebrated a life well lived. After all anybody who can leave so much love behind must have lived her life to the full.
    (((hugs))) for other things too.

knew there would be someone who could clear up the whole swede/turnip confusion. thanks Pippi :T

ZTD you made me laugh. i got a lot of stick for being a southerner when i live in gtr manchester but having moved back south haven't had anyone call me a southerner for a while :rotfl:

You're all southerners to me (in a nice way) to confuse matters more swedes are merely 'swedish turnips', but they do have a neck or a stalk, which is how you know which is which.

You see - 1000's of quids worth of education not wasted!:rotfl:

You're right starnac it never rains but it pours - he's really quite bad all the family are there.

    Cheri - you're so right!

OK, I'm off to work now - try and behave without me - I'll be reading at lunch - but not posting :)

RL sometimes can be a bit of a pain in the derrier

I should probably make more of an effort this year - to be honest I never wash my pots, and only use one type of (peat free) compost for everything, and often forget to water things at all. Survival of the fittest in my garden - don't want no namby pamby plants that need looking after all the time :rotfl: I prefer the kind that I just sort of throw at the soil and they grow all by themselves :D And preferably do the same thing next year too :rotfl:
    Me too!

Ellesmere Port KC :D Home of Vauxhall, ICI, Shell, and apparently the worst air in the country :rotfl:
There's a pretty little theatre there, tho, isn't there - and Eastham Parish Church that I was rattling on about somewhere the other day. Oh yes, and a massive great chemical plant ....
Beginning to actually enjoy teaching, missing granny - so keep booting myself up backside :)

Be nr your neck woods late next week for funeral.

She specifically said no black as it shows up dog/cat hairs!! Lol, practical til the end.

    What a gal!
What a gal indeed. Of course you're missing her - don't boot yourself **too** hard, hey?
Jock the cockerel now in nice new home :)
    Awww.........

I beg to differ, Widnes has the worst air in the country!!! ICI, Granox lots of chemical factories.

Mind you I did got to Ellesmere Port a lot and it did stink there too.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: omigod! My mum's always told me that when she used to put the washing out on the line to dry when we lived in Liverpool itself, she'd bring it in dirty, just from the regular smog we had in those days  lots of particulates (we didn't know the word then, of course) that had to be brushed off.

Now I don't know peeps, I thought MrA was besotted with me (and very happy to be in DD's life) but can you believe it, the man has just turned down the opportunity of potentially joining us for a karaoke birthday party!! I know he sings dreadfully in the shower ;) Shame on him........ha ha ha, glad he doesn't want to come but thought I ought to be polite!

Yes KC and some of my friends who still live there say that they get up to layers of particulates on their cars in the mornings.

Pretty little theatre in Ellesmere Port KC?! Where's that then?! Do you mean the Civic Hall? I used to do pantomimes there when I wasa kid, and we had my auntie's 50th in the back room a few weeks back - brought back a few memories :rotfl:

(((((((((Pippi and family)))))))))))) must be so tough :( Love your granny saying no black :T Hope you do wear stripes if you think she'd have appreciated it. Good on you keeping busy, gardening class sounds utterly fab! :T I do indeed know the transport fiasco very well... Poor you, not what you need right now! :( Hope you figure it out. Let us know if we can do anything xx
