Pippi’s pulling up her stripey-socks for the final sprint towards the Good-Life……………

Thanks for all the envious comments re my chippy (also, bakery, cafe, restaurant and B&B!!) owning sis. I think it is just as well she is over 600 miles away...or we would be there at least once a week
It would be good to see her weekly, but not good for the waistline (which is pretty bad anyway!) :rotfl:!!!! We do tend to pick up a big butchers oder before leaving Wick...he vacuum packs everything, so it all survives until we get home and chuck it all in the freezer. We always get some beef sausages, haggis, white and black puddings as well as some beef olives...mmmm...only four months before we are back north...can't wait! :j
Pippi, as for Kdy...there are at least two Velente's shops!! Not sure which one we use...usually DH or his mum goes there while I sort things at the house. Just consulted with DH and it seems that they tend to use the one by Overton Road (still not very good with Kdy's geography!!).
Well done on your teaching, and extra growing space...and :j:j:jfor a heated bench!!! Is this for your classes only, or for your private use as well??
By the way...something should have reached you today...if not, then Monday;)
Heading off out to get more weeding done...blasted chickweed and goose-grass (otherwise known as cleavers or sticky-willie!)...not to mention the ground elder and bind weed which are surfacing yet again :mad::mad::mad:. Could well head for the weedkiller (try not too)..if I can catch them early enough, I may be able to get on top of them this year (vain hope!)
Have a great weekend everyone.

hi, not losing the weedy plot Pippi just the mental plot!
been shopping today, oopps.
Managed to get myself:
earlies, second earlies & maincrop seed pots
12 x lavender plants
2 x rosemary plants
1 pot chives
1x patio brambly apple tree
1x patio plum tree
1 x thornless blackberry shrub
some unheated propagators (sp?)
small/tiny poly tunnel, which i'm hoping to use for carrots or sommit liek that.
also bought some new paint for the living room, twas a tad expensive as a shopping trip
thinking that pretty much all the plants will end up at the lottie. will plant a row of lavender between us and the other half of the plot to attract bumblebees. We're allowed fruit trees up there (i'm not sure if we need permission or sommit but other have them) and ours are only patio ones so i'm hoping i can sneak them up there with no one noticing.
Thought that i was being quite organised with blackberries and apples, i can just feel a crumble coming on
put some seeds in trays on the window sill today - only basil, corriander, thyme and chives but it's a start. Just need to check all my other seeds to see what else i need to put in trays now.
are you growing strawberries to sell this year Pippi? we put some back today and i think subconciously i was hoping you would be, but no pressure0 -
I'm glad OH has said that about the transport, Pippi, it *is* important .... you're starting teaching quite late in the day (literally, not metaphorically - 3.30 seems quite late to me for a gardening class lol) - but its all money in the pot, which is good.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Glad that you don't have to worry about the cost of the trip, back down for the funeral. I think you would have found it very tough moving forward, if you hadn't been there.
Well done on finding a home for the male chicken!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning all
Have fun NL - hi to Chev and thanks for all the good wishes - we've booked a hairy plane to Edinburgh - and are either doing train or car depending on OH.
Doing seed orders - nicely some ebay folk have bought some, so I've been counting lettuce seeds - and being a bit generous.Blimey they are small - but means my own lettuce crop is now free as the ebay stuff has paid for the seeds for those
Keiss the card (lovely) arrived yesterday thank you and the lovely surprise is already sown! Thank you again - sorry didn't get back on.
KC - hello! Later class to work in with folk finishing work.
LT - looks like you've been very busy!!! I will be having straws later on - let me know how many you'd like - I think I've elsanta and cambridge favourite.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
we'll definitely have some from you, i've suddenly maybe got back into strawberries after not liking them too much for about 10 years.
Good luck with the funeral, how soon is it?0 -
Chev - if the postage works out cheaper, I am happy to send on...
Pippi - I am a little dim, I didn't know you did seeds on ebay, thought it was just plants - maybe when you have time you can point me towards your ebay stuff. All the best for the funeral (sorry, it is a strange thing to say, but done with the best intentions, since I believe funerals are for the people left to appreciate and give the one gone a jolly fine send off)

Contemplating seeds myself today... otherwise the soonest they'll get done is next Sunday and I'm getting left behind! :eek:0
