There's always the possibility that that was the case, and as I didn't see it first hand, I can't say with any certainty, but knowing my father, I'd be very surprised if he hadn't done some of his own checks (e.g. providing the cards himself) to rule out foul play.

I would agree with you and say that there is a logical answer to *most* things, but not everything...I'm tipping the balance between a sceptic and a potential believer...just try to keep an open mind about most things. There's just some things I've come accross that can't be explained away (unlike the actions of the majority of mediums and supposed psychics of whom I am very suspicious), so I can't justuse a blanket statement and say that I am a total skeptic, but on the other hand, I refuse to believe that we fully understand and are able to explain everything. Am I making sense?

Its called argument though ignorance. Making something exist because we don't have an explanation is not a valid argument.

Many years ago I worked on a magazine that a very famous psychic wrote a column for. She came in one lunchtime to talk to a few of us that were open to the subject. She was talking about how sick people are 'healed' in hospitals on the 'other side'. My friend asked whether by 'hospital' she just meant a healing environment and she said, 'no, proper hospitals with doctors and nurses'. At that point, despite having being an avid fan, I was convinced it was all bunkum.

She then however went on to say to another woman not to worry about her husband's ex wife (who had passed years before) as she was happy that she'd taken on her son (though to be fair any of the staff members she'd worked with could have mentioned her situation.)

I visited a few Tarot readers in '90s and every single one of them that I paid was a charlatan but one woman who did it for me for free (I was buying her house and spotted the tarot cards) was absolutely spot on about SO many things including a relationship I was about to have, the exact month that my dog would (unexpectedly) die and the nationality of the person I would eventually marry. She also told me I'd live next to water, I'm about half a mile from the Thames at the moment, sadly she didn't mention a lottery win that would buy me a waterfront house

Quantum physics....now that is really freaky stuff. If all of the people who spend considerable time, energy and money on psychics and mediums, studied quantum mechanics instead, it might just satisfy their quest for "something out there that we don't understand"
No-one understands quantum physics, it's fascinating, it makes you think in a totally different way, and best of all, it's free! :T

Its not so much that I now my dad loved me !

Its more the point that someone who i had never met, knew nothing about me, not my name, age, where I live, nothing could say something that relates to me

They try to use words like Quantum to make themselves sound plausibly there nothing in quantum mechanics that allows them to what they claim.

Quantum mechanics is unquestionable one of the most momentous scientific realizations involving sub-atomic particles. Physics laboratories studies using quantum mechanics have confirmed that the behavior of sub-atomic particles predicted by quantum mechanics appear that information can move backwards in time or faster than the speed of light.

With this understanding and the understanding that humans are made up of sub-atomic particles then it is not too far fetched to believe that psychic abilities is a very real possibility.

Even at the most fundament, non-mathematical level, quantum physics can help explain such realities as thought form and dreams, giving us information about the nature of our realities created consciously or unconsciously.

This “quanta” energy not only integrates everything in existence, but also seems to have a living consciousness and infinite intelligent energy all it own. This type of intelligent energy is not separate, and interlocks with every other energy form in existence without exceptions.

This combination of energies is ultimately an equal aspect of the other, and can only seem different when ego and thought form create an illusion of reality. In quantum physics, this thought of reality states that nothing could be recognized without being observed and come into thought form first.

Existence meaning being able to be acknowledged by the five physical senses. When our senses acknowledge this reality it can then, and only then become existence in the world we live in. When our though form observes a response with the physical world then the quanta come together to form a sub-atomic particles and in turn atoms, then molecules until finally it is manifested in our physical world as a localized space/time event and can be observed by all of our senses and our reality begins. Meaning that everything that exists now has always existed and will always exist in different forms of energy. This basis is a prime example of how we as humans can create our own reality. Using thought energy to directly and instantly affect the quanta in the form of intentional energy and arranging it into an observable event, object or influence.

There is plenty of research available that does connect the quantum theory with the psyche.

Again we are in no position to call it tosh without first proving it to be tosh. The most we can do is disbelieve it.

In the physics experiment it was discovered that if you know the spin direction of one proton in a pair of them, (by observing it and thereby creating the reality of that spinning particle), you also know the spin direction of the other. This is instantaneous; there is no normal communication between them because they can be traveling away from each other at the speed of light, which is as fast as normal communication can be. Somehow each proton “knows” what the other is doing. Distance is no barrier.


This is known in physics as entanglement. It does not violate classical physics (the speed of light barrier) because nothing is traveling from point A to point B.

How does this relate to psychic abilities? Whatever it is that causes entanglement is clearly at work at the macro level with telepathy and clairvoyance since both of these are behaving in exactly the same manner. (Information shared over any distance with no regard to physical limitations and with no signal loss) . We know that telepathy is valid from the very stringently controlled autoganzfeld experiments so the conclusion is obvious: whatever it is that can explain entanglement is going to explain telepathy and clairvoyance as well.
