  • Just like this forum where some posters come on looking for absolution, but only want to hear the answer that tells them so, so are the mediums that prey on the vulnerable. A lot of these got praise after the Great War, when so many had wanted to konw about their loved ones who did not come home. Today is the same!

Is there a Mrs Smith in the Audience, yes it is coming to me, you have recently suffered a major loss. John was it, no no, Peter, yes Peter. He says the cash in under the matress, take a look

And as for ghosts, they do not exist either. When I was younger than now, I lived in an old house where a presecence was always felt, in an unerring way. When Grandad did up the kiteche, they found an old preist hall and buried inn there was a skeleton of about 200 years. When we found it, the prescence went awat, as the body spirit had not gone to heaven, as the path way (Preist hole) was closed. As soon as it was opened up, the 'spirit' made its journey

If you pm me, I sahll give you Saturday's lottery numbers.

I think there is something mediumship, but i was once told that never tell a psychic or medium anything or give anything away to them, sure there are con artists trying to make a quick buck out of those trying to find answers to their lives misery, or to contact loved ones.

Lol, yes I always think the biggest give away has got to be......

"He says theres a "P" in his name, he's pointing to his shoe..........Whats that?...............P P P,...............he says his name begins with a "P" and he likes the shoes".

Were I deceased and trying to contact a family member, I would more likely say "My FULL name is..........I died on...........can you tell my brother Carl, the guy sat over there with the green tie on, that I am saying hello and thank him for lending me his shoes for the job interview last Year".

Simply saying "My name has a P in it" might just be taking the P ;)

Albeit I have no faith in clairvoyance myself, I cannot say they are liars, because I cannot PROVE they are telling lies, neither can you.

That rubbish the person who making need to back up there argument with evidence, its not the job of the sceptic to prove that someone lieing. Its the job of the person claiming what ever there claiming has to prove there not lieing.

An argument though ignorance is not valid argument.

Just because its some belief don't mean you can't call them out of them and say there being ridiculous.

Extreme example but Hitler belies was aborhent and we eventually called him out of them. No one nowadays say Hither he was ok he was just following what he believed.
  • An ex-bf was a spiritualist, and went to a 'church' once a week. He asked me to go with him, and told me that he was sure that I would get a message from my Dad, who had died some years previously.

The guest medium was a man in his early 50's, with bouffant hair, terrible dress sense and an manner that could only be described as Graham Norton on acid. He kept waving his hands around, almost crying about the 'love and energy' in the room, and taking huge sighing breaths as the spirits 'came through him'.

Shaun leant over, and whispered that he was sure I would hear from my Dad. At that moment, I heard my Dad's voice in my head, as clear as a bell.

'Blossom, if I have got anything to say to you, I'll do it myself. I am not talking to you through that d*ckh**d.'

I had to cram my fist into my mouth to stop giggling, and eventually was led from the room because people thought the tears rolling down my face were due to the 'energy' in the room. I barely made it out before I collapsed in laughter. I don't for a second think it was my Dad speaking, but my mind had chosen the perfect phrase for him to use.

Funnily enough, the relationship didn't last.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Sorry but I disagree, whenever someone has gone to a psychic for a reading or whatever, so long as they are happy with the advice given, there is no law ANYWHERE that specifically states that the psychic shows them any kind of evidence other than the information they have provided to the customer.

Yes I would take what was said with the tiniest pinch of salt, and certainly would not wish to pay for a service like this, but others are perfectly entitled to do so, whether or not You, I or anybody else believe what is said.

If the customer leaves satisfied, and they feel it was money well spent, thats all the proof they need. If they feel they have been ripped off or misled, as the majority of us outsiders would feel. No court in the land will demand they are refunded, whether or not either of them can back up their claims.

It would in that case, not be upto the psychic to prove their claims to be valid, it would be upto the customer to prove they were not. Neither case would hold strong in a court as proof in the paranormal will always remain questionable, just as it would in religion, a customer either believes them or they don't, but that's as far as it could go.

I don't believe in any of it. Which is a shame as I'd love it to be true that one day I'll be reunited with the people I've lost - but frankly its not true is it. And generally I would say that anyone who claims it is true is a fraud and a charlatan of the worst kind. Those TV shows where they stand in front of the audience and commune with lost relatives just strike me as sad.

Don't believe in ghosts etc either. Most Haunted is hilarious, out of all those shows I've watched, not once have they ever caught anything compelling on camera. Everything vaguely unexplainable always happens off camera and they always miss it.

Having said that, i've been round The Old Ram inn in Worcester, one of the mosts 'haunted' places in Britain byall accounts. And yeah, it was pretty damn creepy, but that doesn't equal restless spririts.
