Just ring your gp and book an appointment then when you actually see her/ him you can tell them your pregnancy is already confirmed and they can make the necessary arrangements with the hospital and midwife for you.0

I'll give them a call on Friday, I'd do it sooner but don't have enough credit and it's an 0845 number

Well I've had an odd week. I got very depressed (apparently that's normal) and was just feeling bleegh. Mum and dad had talked and decided they would adopt the sprog if I couldn't deal with it. Needless to say that didn't gondown brilliantly. The idea of being pregnant for 9 months then watching your parents bringing your child up would be rather odd! Anyway have decided between us to move back to Kendal after my exams so around June and take at least a year out of university. I realized that I need to be near my family when the baby is small as I'll have a lot of learning to do. I can then go back to uni after a year either in Leeds or travel to Lancaster maybe!Money money money.

Hi abby, yeah don't worry about feeling down about things. I went back and forward with my emotions so much in pregnancy. I was a bit of a wreck for most of it wondering if I was doing the right thing and wondering how I'd cope. I don't think it's abnormal to feel like that when facing an unplanned pregnancy.
Your parents weren't trying to be nasty by saying what they did. I expect they think they're trying to be supportive. At least you know that they are on board and willing to help you when the child arrives. I would personally do as you plan by moving home and deferring a year of uni.
I had a friend who fell pregnant in her second year of uni, she deferred her final year for a year and went back and did really well, even though she'd had a child.
Try to stay positive, although I know from experience how hard it can be!0 -
Well I was more depressed about going back to Kendal as last time i didn't know anyone but actually I got on well with the ladies from my last job and one of them is dying for me to come back so maybe it won't be so bad and I guess I could transfer my credits from in to the open universityMoney money money.

When are you due?
I had DD in August 2009 so took a year out. She was a 'suprise' baby number 3.
This year has been hard, I have found it hard to get back into college (I'm doing an HNC this year), my mind just won't work as well as it did 2 years ago. Plus it's so hard having 3 and trying to find time to study. I do think that it would have been easier if I had conceived a few months earlier and had her in say May/June. Then I could have put her in nursery come September and not missed a year. Course then I would have been huge when studying for exams... Swings and roundabouts!
My tutors are good. DD was very ill at the begining of Novemeber and was in Yorkhill for a week. I had 2 full weeks off college and didn't look at a book once. When I got back they handed me stuff so I could try and catch up. She only got the all clear on Tuesday so my head has been all over. But they have been very understanding with me. I have noticed that they are less understanding of the other girl with a young child. But she tells everyone about her weekends out while her mum has her daughter then claims to be unable to do homework due to child care. So the tutors are nice but don't stand for snash.
My daughter loves the nursery and luckily the one at college is great. Next year if I go to Uni I will have to re think nursery vs childminder see what is best for us. I'm at college 2 and a half days a week, but because of the wat it works, the college childcare fund pays for 3 full nursery days so I get Thursday afternoons to study, I say I'll go to the libary and do it but usually I just come home, it's not far. A lot of the childcare funds have funding to pay for an extra half day or day to help you with your studies. Worth looking into that.
Have you applied for Uni and will you be getting any interviews this year? It might be worth going to the open days and having a chat with the tutors. Ask what they are like with regards to childcare and helping you juggle study and home life. I've been to see one uni and have managed to speak to a few others when they have came into college. Most are very supportive of parents. They will help you as much as you need. So long as you are open and honest.
best of luck.0 -
Hello everyone just thought I'd update as it's months later. I'm expecting a little boy who I plan to call Joshua.
Father still isn't involved but I have a very nice boyfriend who makes me very happy. Doing well at uni, and yes I plan to continue. It will b hard but I'm averaging a first and I don't want to risk a year out. At least I know I have my parents to fall back on.Money money money.
