Jarlsberg is a Norwegian product, isn't it..? I shall be asking my local Tesco to consider removing it from their shelves.0

LizEstelle wrote:Well, since the Icelandic, Japanese and Norwegian Governments have all sanctioned this slaughter, I assume I have, according to your logic, every right to take my own action against the populations of those countries.
Er, should I have put that in upper case, you know, specifically for the benefit of the hard of thinking..?
Yes, provided that, if any of your loved ones are caught up in an attack in the UK, you are happy to say it's alright on the grounds that our wonderous Government bombed Iraq.
The point is that if you condemn the populations of those countries for the actions of the government, you are making the assumption that they all support it. Experience suggests that there are few governments that have the 100% support of their population. Although there used to be a bloke in Iraq that got to about 98% according to the election results...

They are democracies. What more do you want or expect?
You go on making up pathetic, apologistic excuses for them if you want.
I'll be taking what action I can at what level I can. It's all I can do.0 -
So you do support the bombing in Iraq? Do you support the detention of people who hold up Tibetan flags during a visit of the Chinese premier? Do you support the detention of people without trial? I could go on but you'd only not get it.

If anyone here is a regular buyer of these products, please could you think twice before your next purchase?
Norway, along with Iceland and Japan, has decided it's a brilliant idea to start hunting whales again.
There is very little that the individual here in the UK can do, but boycotting products from these countries is certainly one option - and one which probably is more telling in the long run than any polite diplomatic protests from Tony Blair.
If you disagree with the slaughter of whales, please reconsider your support for the economies of these countries.0 -

Thank you for your ongoing sarcasm about my intellectual capabilities. I note that you take refuge behind sneers when you're losing the argument hands down. Personally, I won't be taking chiding about my abilities from someone who, it would appear, believes that 'alright' is an acceptable form of 'all right'.
No, I don't 'support' many of the things you mention and I take the same approach to them which I am proposing here. It has been a very long time indeed since I knowingly bought anything which supported the Chinese or American economies.
I 'get it', all right.
It's just that, unlike you, I'm prepared to take what action I can at a personal level instead of continually seeking reasons to shirk any responsibility and to pretend that two/three/four wrongs somehow make a right.
Either come up with an argument which, finally, makes logical AND moral sense or I shall not favour your offerings with the attention they so clearly do not deserve.0 -

Maybe you should go back to watching the cartoons..
Yep, I will, once they come back on. As for your esteemed self, maybe you should go back to your spelling lessons lol

Hmmm, taking that attitude you would never buy anything!
Britain - Invades Iraq, has battery chickens, fishes too much cod!
France - Stuffs geese full of corn to make foie gras.
Spanish - Fight bulls, and fish too much cod.
Italy - Prone to diving in boring football matches.
Germany - Kicked off big style in two world wars.
I could go on...?0 -

Would there be the odd, free punctuation tip thrown in with the 'spelling lessons', do you think?
You know - they might then enlighten us as to what should be at the end of each statement sentence.0
