If you get a moment, you might like to read through the posts. I am actually against whaling. You assume a lot about people and what they think - and you seem to be wrong quite often.

Its impossible to fight every battle over every little thing that we dislike, we have to pick and choose and some people think there are enough people moaning about the war in Iraq or China's human rights issues, but screw the Whales, let them die out......

No, don't screw the whales but don't attack people who have nothing to do with it and don't support it either.

I am lucky enough to have spent quite a lot of time in Iceland and can tell you that lots of them do not support whaling. It's not fair on them to attack them. What is so difficult about this?

Whales: Nice cute thing with a lot cute films about them (Free Willy)
Rats: Horrible greasy nasty things with Horror books written about them (James Herbert)
Don't rats have the right to life?
    Save the rat I say.

No idea, it has rats apparently though. Not quite as sexy creatures to support as prawns!

Oh and if you really want to do a bit of damage, pay off your cheap mortgages and cheap loans - this will destroy the "carry trade" with Japan, much more significant to them than several Sonys or thousands of cheese factories.

Or are we discussing discretionary ethics?

    Anyway......

Now that the thread has been hijacked, is there any chance it can get back to its original purpose...

Or can the childish comments carry on all night? I would suggest gerretl, tr3mor and jmarko start their own thread about saving rats and acting like children....

If you disagree with the OP then fair enough, you've had your say (many times over) but your posts are going against the ethos of the site - helping each other!
