Hmmm, taking that attitude you would never buy anything!

Britain - Invades Iraq, has battery chickens, fishes too much cod!
France - Stuffs geese full of corn to make foie gras.
Spanish - Fight bulls, and fish too much cod.
Italy - Prone to diving in boring football matches.
Germany - Kicked off big style in two world wars.

    I could go on...?

Yes, and you DO go on... yet another 'two wrongs make a right' argument.

    You are henceforth ignored.

Apparently you don't get it. All the things I put in that post are things that YOUR British government did. Do you buy British? Or is it just foreign countries that we are meant to boycott?

I don't need to come up with any alternatives. I'm not the one proposing boycotting things. I am not the one condemning whole populations for the actions of their governments. You're doing that. Is that moral or logical?

My point remains a simple one. You cannot condemn a country for the actions of their government. Morality doesn't begin a Dover, you know.

PS re your correction of my previous post - that version of alright has been perfectly acceptable for in excess of 200 years, so it's alright by me.

Yep, I will, once they come back on. As for your esteemed self, maybe you should go back to your spelling lessons lol

Wow, what a retort. You're mother must be so proud of you.

Never mind, the pokemon will be back soon and you can carry on fiddling with yourself.

Sorry for having a different view. But actually isn't that your point? We all have to think like someone else? Everyone in this country has to think like you. Everyone in a foreign democracy has to think like the government of that country.

Condemn us all. Even the prawns.

Best to ignore, Ken. Their 'arguments' are childish (you yourself noticed the resorting to infantile antics).

If we followed their precepts we would still be living in the dark ages. Just keep looking, as I am, for practical ways in which to hit back against the whalers rather than those who make apologies for them and the countries who back them.

They are prepared to do ... absolutely nothing. We can only assume that all the bluff and bluster is because they actually enjoy the idea of whales being harpooned and then slaughtered for financial gain.

In the circumstances, ignoring is the digified option. Bandying words with the morally bankrupt only gives them unearned attention.

They are at least publicising the cause by repeatedly posting!

Hey... apparently an Icelandic company called Baugur is thinking of buying up some or all of either Woolworths or House of Fraser.

Now that WOULD give us boycotters a nice, easy target...

By boycotting any country, you achieve only two things. You pay lip service to your own guilt for not doing more in your own realm and, secondly, you hurt the very people at the bottom of the chain who earn their living by providing you with the bits and pieces that you have stopped buying. It is them that lose their jobs.

What an ill thought out, stupid post....

    1. At least someone "paying lip service" is doing something to appease their guilt, not burrying their head in the sand or should that be sticking their head in front of their PC's that they are so bitter about ranting at people who ARE trying to do something.

    2. I think everyone should stop being so selfish and start doing drugs. I'm not talking soft drugs that benefit dealers in Amsterdam, I mean Class A hardcore Cocaine and Heroin. After all, think of all the poor people producing it in Columbia, they have nothing and if you don't buy their drugs, they will starve.... YEAH RIGHT!!!

Its impossible to fight every battle over every little thing that we dislike, we have to pick and choose and some people think there are enough people moaning about the war in Iraq or China's human rights issues, but screw the Whales, let them die out......

Update... they already own the jewellers Mappin & Webb and the Oasis high street stores. Great, now we've got something to start us off, apart from the likes of Sony, Toyota etc.
