  • Hawley Lake (locally known as Hawley Hard) has hosted the odd film crew - including James Bond (tho can't recall which one!!).

  • Hot Fuzz was filmed in and around Wells in Somerset. And Sandford the village name in the film is a village some 10 miles away home to Thatchers Cider.
Love that film not being a native to the area but now living close by it's great to watch. Apart from the murders in the film it's so true !!

  • if you want to see the spot where Basil Fawlty lost it with his Morris 1100, head to Lapstone Gardens in Kenton, near Harrow, at the junction with Mentmore Close. The postcode area is HA3 0ED

Black park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Park) near Slough has been used for loads of films. Although you probably wouldn't know if you walked through it. Saw a set (old church type ruins) for Wolfman there once, but they quickly rip them down. I thought Robin Hood was filmed at Black park (the newest one), there was a scene by the lake that looked like Black Parks lake. Can't confirm it though.

Farnborough Airport was used for "Casino Royale". And IQ Farnborough business park has been used quite a bit in the last few years for some TV - "Lewis", "Episodes" (with Matt Le Blanc) but it was in a building with green screens outside the windows. "Top Gear" used the business park as a race track. And they were (think they've gone) filming "Xmen First Class" inside one of the old airport buildings on the business park.

Finally, Guildford Cathedral was used in the original "The Omen" film.

Oh and Godalming High Street was used for a bit of "The Holiday". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godalming#Media Although you probably wouldn't recognise it from the film.

This Shop in Balby, Doncaster was used as Arkwright’s shop in Open All Hours. It’s nothing special though, I was once a Postman on that street and never realised about the shop until somebody told me.

I think the actual shop was up for sale a few years ago but In today’s recession, You could probably buy the whole street cheaper than a semi in London (House prices are around £55,000-£65,000 each).
  • The latest Harry Potter scene in the woods where Harry, Ron and Hermione get chased was filmed at "The Lookout" near Bracknell. Also, the Dursleys house is Bracknell too. Not going to post the actual address, as I'm sure the current owners must be fed up with people turning up to look. Its not the people who owned the house when the filming was done and I heard the people who now own the house weren't told about the filming when they bought it.

black park used to be used for harry potter quite a lot, my dad used to have to go out there with work from time to time.

Osterley park near isleworth is often used for filming as well, horrible histories do a lot of stuff there (but you really wouldn't be able to tell) and the scenes in burke and hare where the medical council met is their entrance hall. Also gullivers travels that comes out next month spent a few days there shooting stuff.
  • In Kevin & Perry Go Large there is a scene where they are DJ'ing outside a shopping centre. That was filmed at Charter Place in Watford.

An episode of The Avengers was filmed outside Codicote Towers on Elstree Road in Bushey Heath. This was formerly Rosary Priory School and is now Immanuel College.

In Eastenders when Michelle was "friendly" with a vicar, the church they used was down St Albans Road in Watford.

The prison gates at the start of Porridge are part of the entrance to St Albans Register Office.
