Switch went through early December, No sign of the TCB £80 cashback, no sign of the £100 EDF Credit, no sign of any online access and still no sign of either gas or electricity bills.

I've just got back from my hols and Ive been sent both gas and electric bills. I signed up online for OS7 but my electric bill shows standard tariff. My electric bill for 3 months is £400 which is the biggest bill I've ever had. My gas bill is £290, I wish I didn't leave BG now. I'm not sure what the difference between the standard tariff and the OS7 tariff because I can't find any details. I have just found a letter that was dated in feb saying that prices are going up on 2nd March. Nowhere on any paperwork I have does it mention Online saver 7. On both bills there are credits showing £75 for electric and £25 for the gas. I will phone them tomorrow because I'm on the wrong tariff. Surely they can't make me pay these bills can they?
  • Just tried to log into my online account:

It's been down 'for maintenance' most weekends recently. I would imagine that if you log in between 12 and 3pm most days, it will say 'out to lunch'...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Lol...........
  • Having signed up to this tariff in December but not yet received a bill, I read this thread with some trepidation last night. The "no price change" bit sounded good, but the nightmare administration most definitely didn't.

However when the EDF site emerged from its weekend hibernation this morning I was able to log on and confirm that, with no input from me other than a couple of meter readings, I'm on the correct tariff, with the £100 credit, and the right DD amount. I also had my £30 moneysupermarket credit last week.

It sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones, and I am still to see all this confirmed on an actual bill, but it looks like they CAN get it right on occasion...

Nearly everything has gone through for me,

Only thing still waiting for, is the ability to enter readings for electric online !!!

You can, you just cannot log in to read your bills.

Go to https://www.edfenergy.com/meter-reading/edf-energy/start.do - you will be asked for your account numbers but as you will find out you cannot enter the last digit as there isn't space for it. When I was querying this with them one of their reps told me the last digit of all EDF account numbers is a 'check' digit and not relevant to get the right account on their system, so just miss off the last digit of your account number and you're good to go.

(Bit farcical really, if the check digit is not required why not scrap it? If it has to be there why not make the entry field one character longer to stop people worrying if it's right or not?)

    I cant , and I can :D

whether i sign into my account or your link , i cant enter any electric readings , only gas !!!!

i also enter my full account number no problem
  • I can only conclude that some of Santander's ex IT people now work for EDF.

The "old" system was great :-

I could look at my gas and electricity accounts , see the quarterly usage .

I could see how much was in each account either debit or credit.

The "new" system contained absolutely no information other than I am in credit, no individual totals for Gas or Electric.

A message appears on the web site saying you can still log back in to your "old" account if you want.

Great so in I go and it tells me I have no valid accounts, pity I still get valid bills then !!!

My current contract ends in July and if things don't improve I will be gone.

I have reported the problem to EDF so will see what happens.

Clearly EDF IT oiks did not bother to even desk test the "new" system before unleashing it on us mere customers.
