EDF - Online Saver 7.

I received a letter today from EDF telling me that I am unaffected by the recent price hike announced to take effect from the 2 March.
So I called them up to confirm this and was told that it was correct, and there is a price freeze on OS7 till December 2011.
It makes a pleasant change to post something good after my experience with F.U.0 -
That would be fantastic news. :T0
-
That confirms what I had been told by a customer advisor as she was on the same tariff ! lets hope its is correct if it is it would vindicate opting for EDF .0

I've just had a letter from EDF too confirming that their prices won't rise for my plan (OS7):D. Great news!0

Absolutely, this is great news. It was always a gamble for me as the prices weren't guaranteed beyond next month, I gambled the cashback and welcome bonuses would counter any increases but this news makes it all that bit more worthwhile.
Perhaps, for a change, EDF are bucking the trend of trapping new customers and instead they want to keep us for the long run. This plan could well pay off dividends for them in the long run if the energy companies are trying to go back to rewarding loyalty instead of penalising switchers.
Edit - I received the similar letter to 'MONEYPENNY' confirming 'the price of our fixed and online products will not be affected by this change.'0 -
just adding to the ` same as the rest`
i also got a letter saying my online saver 7 wont be effected - south east region , electric @ 8.78p per unit inc vat , and gas at 2.77 inc.0 -
Just a quick heads up to say that EDF are now offering Online S@ver Version 9 (from yesterday), which guarantees minimum 2% less than standard charges to 30.06.12. (Compare the Online S@ver Version 8 which only runs to 31.03.12.)
I'm an EDF customer and rang them to ask what fixed price tariffs they had to offer. There's no charge for existing customers and can be arranged over the phone. Free number is; 0800 404 9091.

PS I am on Energy Discount Plan 2 (Economy 7) (to 31.03.11), until they put me on Version 9.0 -

I wouldn't be tempted to switch to version 9 at all. The price for this plan is about 5% higher than version 7 for my energy use, plus crucially this would tie a customer in until June 2012. The exit penalty is £60.
It appears from posts here version 7 is guaranteed to be fixed until December, at which point the penalty is lifted and I can shop around again without any exit penalty. I won't go into the sums I've done but version 9 seems to be of no benefit to anyone who usually takes advantage of the cheapest online rate and switches suppliers whenever they can.0 -
I am on OS7 and I have been suprised by the price which is great by all means however I still cannot get on to my online account regardless of who I speak to its getting silly now.
Also guys there is an EDF rep on here now they contacted me earlier this week because of my thread about the poor response I received from my complaint email about this ongoing online issue. They must be responding to backfoots constant complainingHis Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -

Are you complaining about my constant complaining?
You should be try being them.
More seriously, a lot of the EDF people I have dealt with have been very understanding and most helpful. I think, however, their hands are currently tied by system weaknesses as they migrate to a hopefully better platform.
That's not to excuse anything because that doesn't help the Customer and the many problems shouldn't have happened. As you have noted, our feedback is being listened to and is being taken seriously.
I sense some light at the end of the tunnel and if the OS7 remains price static as indicated, we will have endured it all for a decent reward to the average market price.
So stop complaining, that's my job.0
