Hugs Starnac & wishes for a Happy & Brighter New Year - you will raise above the nonsense, just give it time!
Thanks RT. I know it will all blow over and I'm a little annoyed with myself for feeling so hurt too. I feel like telling myself to "get over it" but I can't just yet:(

New Year and blah blah blah.....
Anyway it is actually a new month too so let's make some goals/challenges. I do actually need to look at controlling my finances a bit more so challenges this time will include spending less and earning more. DS will start school 2 hours a day after we get back from our holiday so I will have (realistically) about an hour a day where I can get stuff done. This will include more housework than I currently do, some life admin stuff and upping my income (hopefully)
We are away for a week in 2 weeks time so that won't count in this month as I have worked extra shifts/agency shifts etc all last year to be able to enjoy this holiday with no guilt. So I won't feel guilty about what we spend while away as the money is already saved. Obviously if we bring anything back then that will go towards the debt but I am not really bothered if we don't bring anything back. I would like one week where I am not obssessively trying to control our money. I don't think that's too much to ask is it??
January Challenges then....
NSD's - I am going to say 6 (which is 2 a week, not including holiday week)
Payments made - Let's go for £300 (£100 a week?)
Decluttering - 6 (again 2 items a week)
Money earned - £100 (this is on top of normal pay)
That should do it for the first month of the year.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Thanks monz I really appreciate your support. I'm feeling pretty nervous about going to church Sunday in case she is there. DH is working so I'll be going (with the kids obviously) on my own. The one saving grace is, I'm pretty sure she won't want to make a scene in public as she doesn't really have a leg to stand on. But there is still a small part of me that is bricking it slightly
Money wise I got my first NSD of the month (and the year) as we didn't leave the house all day. Planning on taking the kids out on their scooters today but not passing a shop so hopefully will get another NSD.
All bills have come out of our account today with yesterday being a BH. Will look at moving some money across to the loan later. I also want to start decluttering but I'm thinking it might be better to wait til the kids go back to school so that they won't want to "help" :rotfl:

Had a quick look at the bank account and moved the old window loan payment to the loan. It's not much but it's a start. It's also 1.7% paid off apparently :rotfl:

I managed to get some decluttering done after all. Just through doing a bit of tidying up. I've started a box and I am going to try to fill it and take it to the charity shop by Monday.
I've just had a quick count and there is 6 items in there so I've already achieved my January targetthink I may need to up the target
I am also claiming today as a NSD. I can't see me going out this evening now to spend money so I'll add it to my total(have to take the wins when I can

starnac - it saddens me to read that that silly woman has made you feel nervous. I do hope that you go to church tomorrow - if you want to go of course. I rather think that you are right, and it is quite one thing to bad mouth people hiding behind social media, but quite another to do it in public........
Interestingly, we have just spent the evening watching 'The Help'. There was one scene where one of the main characters finds out that her maid has 'quit' (allegedly) and she runs out into the garden in anguish. Whilst there, she remembers a moment when she was younger and her maid comforted her, as she hadn't been asked out on a date to the upcoming prom, and the boys had made spiteful comments about her. I was thinking of you, because the maid turned to her, and said, 'Ask yourself the question; Am I going to believe all those bad things those fools say 'bout me today?'
Of course, the answer is no.
That woman is a fool to say bad things about you. I can't imagine anyone that knows you believes them anyway. It's a shame that she has done/is doing what she has done, but the problem is hers, and hers alone.
I hope you choose to spend your morning how you wish to spend it tomorrow starnac, no need to worry about the words of fools.
