Thanks Cheery I didn't end up going in the end though :( Never mind. No big thing.

Been a bit of a busy week. DD was ill the beginning part of the week but thankfully she made a full recovery to go back to school today for her christmas concert. She had one of the lead parts and was fantastic even if I do say so myself. :D She had so much confidence on stage and knew all her lines and most of the other parts' lines too!!!

DH swapped his shift to a late so that he could go to the concert so he's still in work. Making the most of the peace and quiet I've had since the kids have gone to bed I have caught up on some overdue paperwork. I filled out next year's diary and started preparing paperwork for work next year. I have also got a lot of money paperwork sorted out. Unfortunately no money found while doing so!! But I do feel better now it's all up to date and I can see exactly where we stand. Even if the view isn't great :(

Some good news though. I won a giveaway on FB and I'll get my prize on saturday :T nice one! Add that to the chocolates my mum won in the raffle today at school (and then gave to DD for being so fab) it's been a pretty lucky day :)

Forgive me MSE'ers for I have sinned!! I have spent an extortionate amount of money this morning on something I didn't really need :o

Since when have concert tickets been so blooming expensive?? Is it just me?

Tickets went on sale this morning for the Manics at Cardiff castle. I used to go to as many of their gigs as possible and ALL of the ones in South Wales but I haven't seen them in years! In fact the last time I saw them I was about 5/6months pregnant with DD (who is now 7!)

I really wanted to go but then said no when I saw the cost. I was quite gutted and DH took pity on me I think. He admitted he hasn't got me anything for Christmas so offered to pay for the tickets as Christmas and birthday presents. :j so I bought tickets and we are going!! Yay! :T not til June though :rotfl:

I do feel quite guilty for being so indulgent though :o

Don't be daft - this is your Christmas AND birthday present, and anyway, OH bought them technically it's *him* being indulgent, not you :D

And we are allowed treats now and then! :kisses3: All too easy to get into the mindset of depriving yourself of *everything* and that's not good long term.

So relax, enjoy your night out :)
  • I wouldn't feel a bit guilty. It's for Christmas and your birthday, that's not bad at all!

Morning all. DH has taken DD to school this morning so DS and I are still in our pj's :rotfl: I have been up since 6.30 sewing though so it's not too bad! This week is DD's last week in school before Christmas so we are doing "the 5 days of Christmas hair" Last year I found a picture on the Internet of a bun that had been made to look like Rudolph. DD loved it when I did her hair like it and wanted it again this year. Then I found a picture of a bun made into a snowman, then Santa, so it's kicked off a week of different christmas hair!! She has Santa in her hair this morning but I did have to sew a hat and a beard this morning. As you do!!!
