It was very cheery. I got myself in such a state though. I was on the verge of a panic attack driving there. I was so afraid of having the wrong fabric, not enough, too much, other people being there, not knowing who else was going to be there.... Etc. etc I was so close to going back home. I haven't felt like that since my PND with DD
I pretty much forced myself to walk to the place. But I went and had a wonderful timewe had cups of tea and chatted about various sewing projects. I brought home less fabric than I took
and that was after I picked up a few bits too! :T the organiser has agreed to make it a regular thing too so that'll be nice. Hopefully I'll feel better about going next time.
Did a shift for the agency yesterday in a local hospice. It was so quiet the time dragged a little. On the upside though I got a chance to chat with some of the patients. I love hearing about the "olden days" even if that was only 10 years ago. One man was telling me about the time he met his wife and how her dad said the marriage wouldn't last 6months! (they've been married 49years!!) the nurses were happy for me to chat to the patients as it gave them time to catch up on paperwork. It must be hard to work there full time thoughGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Good on you Starnac for getting into that fabric swap! :j Takes guts to do something new sometimes
And well done on chatting to the folk in the hospice too, I bet it made their dayI've been spending a lot of time in care homes for work lately and I have nothing but admiration for most of the people who work in them, it's certainly not something I could do long term or full time.

I loved chatting to them. I think sometimes in places like hospices/care homes etc so much of their independence and (dare I say it?) dignity is taken away from them through ill health etc that someone taking an interest in THEM not their illness or bodily functions but THEM. It lights up their eyes. I've seen it so many times over the years I've worked in Healy and social care. I personally love it too as it gives me an insight into other people's lives (I am nosey!)
More decluttering and money saving news here. DS is finally toilet trained :j *fanfare* woohoo! It has taken quite a few stressful weeks but we are finally there. I didn't want to jinx it by saying anything too early but he has been going in nursery and in other peoples houses too! So it's fair to say we've cracked it!! Well done DS :T The nappies that we have here have already been offered to a friend and I'll take them when I meet her for a run later tonight.

Morning all. Gosh I am tired this morning. I actually slept through my alarm! Thankfully I have kids who don't understand the meaning of "lie in" so we weren't actually late. It just meant that we all got up together and I had to make sandwiches etc while they were eating their breakfasts. No big deal really but *yawn* I could do with going back to bed!
Both kiddies at school/nursery today. DS sulked all the way there because I made him wear a jumper (I know, bad mammy!) he's going to have to get used to it as it's become quite chilly the last two days.
I've got two meetings today. One this morning and one this evening. Need to tidy all the paperwork off the coffee table and sweep the floor too as this evening's meeting is here.
DH is away with work for a couple of days so kids won't see him til Saturday probably. I will see him when he gets back late Thursday night but then he's out early Friday morning and not home til probably 11pm so I doubt he'll actually see the kids Friday.
He's done a fab job in the kitchen mind you. It's almost finished now. It's surprising what you can do with limited money and resources! Basically he's just moved the units around and it looks bigger and there's more usable worktop space. Some of the walls need re plastering and it all need painting. He pipes from the boiler need boxing in too as they are quite unsightly. We are getting there though! :TGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I'm not sure where this morning has gone to be honest with you. Took DD to school this morning as we got to the door she complained of a tummy ache. I took her to her class and explained to her teacher so I'm kind of half waiting for a phone call to ask me to go and fetch her
I'm supposed to be going for a run with some mummies in the village later. I saw a message on the village FB page advertising this run with buggies. I enquired and was quite looking forward to it til I met the mummy that is organising it. They changed the day from a Monday to a Thursday and the reason she gave was her eldest child was in nursery and her and another mum decided they didn't want toddlers in the group only babies  They were also quite patronising when I asked how far they were thinking of running. She gave me the whole "We cater for all abilities and we are quite happy to run at your pace, so don't worry you won't embarrass yourself!" She quickly changed her tune when I told her I was doing a HM and told me it was really a beginner's group! But I know if I don't go out with DS in the buggy today I can't run til Saturday
Still not decided what to do and they are meeting in an hour :cool:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Yes I did go. Almost didn't as I panicked a bit about meeting new people. I'm not sure where this anxiety is coming from? Anyway I had to go as this was my only chance to run til Saturday. There was 4 of us all together. One mum came without her baby :rotfl: as her hubby had half day and the other two had very small babies awwwww!
DS loves being in the running buggy. He relaxes a lot more in it than his normal day to day buggy. We ended up doing 5k so that was more than I was expecting, although there was quite a bit of walking involved. That didn't bother me that much as DS is quite heavy to push uphill!!!I would go again x

Very nearly payday here. I think my pay should go in on Monday. Bank balances looking a bit better so £50 moved to the loan. I've got a bit of a bonus in this pay too as apparently I should have been receiving a car allowance each month and haven't so that's been backdated almost 2years :T Also got 2 more agency shifts booked in for next week :j
