Thank you cheery it's not going as fast as I would like but we have made good inroads.

DD has gone back to school this morning. She was so excited. It was lovely to see her want to go back to school. On a selfish note, as much as I have loved having her home, I have missed my routine. I also haven't got as much "life admin" stuff done as we have been too busy enjoying the summer holidays :D she's grown up so much this year. She's so eager to help and it is so lovely to listen to her play with her barbie's or her brother.

Her hair has finally started to grow, it's almost waist length now and she's got such a pretty face. Her "big" teeth are coming through and I know it won't be long before she's not my little girl anymore. But as she told me this morning on the way to school "no matter how big I get mammy, I'll always be your baby" :kisses3:

  • Hi, just read pretty much all your diary well done on paying off huge chunks of the debt.

R.e. potty training, we didn't bother with a potty at all as we thought why train them twice once to go on the potty and then again to go on the toilet. (just my opinion) In stead we got a little toilet seat, a step so they could get up to the toilet and some special handwash just for them that they chose from the shop. We didn't pressurise them and just made it as fun as possible, it took a while but it was painless on both sides. I have a girl and a boy and we did the same with both, although we did get the lad to sit down to wee at first.

Your list for today looks epic, have a good day.

:hello: Chrysalis you deserve a medal for reading all my wafflings!

Thanks for the potty training advice. We have found that DS is liking the toilet more than the potty. We are holding onto the potty for now though as it's quite far to run down the stairs to the bathroom when he only tells me about 5seconds before he starts to go :o we'll get there!

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary. I spent most of the day waiting in for a delivery, which came at 5.30pm obviously!! Then I had a meeting in the evening which I was quite looking forward to but came away pretty annoyed  do you know, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!!

Anyway money is very tight this month. We have made some changes to our joint finances which should (on paper) give us more spare money at the end of the month, however, we have spent quite a bit of money already in the last week as car tax, insurance and MOT were all due. We had some money put aside but no where near enough as we have been concentrating on debt busting. I know, I know. But we are now left with very little money until DH gets paid mid month.

It's not that bad really as the 15th isn't that far away and our new finance/budget allows more money to be saved each month for the car bills. This time next year we should have all the money we need for the car in savings :D It just feels a bit of a setback as the new budget is supposed to stop things like This happening.

Let's talk challenges. I know my reference has been posted back to the agency so I am hoping they will get that soon and will start offering me shifts. I would like to say yes to one shift a week so that'll be 3 shifts for this month, allowing time for my reference to get there.

I want to continue decluttering now the kids are back at school/nursery. 10 seems to be a good number for me so I will stick to that. Don't forget it doesn't mean 10 individual things, it normally means 10 boxes/bags of things so it is quite a lot of stuff really. The CS must be loving us ;)

No monthly challenge would be complete without a money one. Let's try to be realistic. I keep putting £500 and I'm not reaching it. I know I can reach £250, and I am hoping for 3 shifts with the agency, plus a bit extra to make it a challenge so let's say £400.

    In summary
    September Challenges
    Agency work 0/3
    Declutter 0/10
    Payments made £82/£400
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
    Overpayments £0/£200

Properly back to normal here now. Last week flew by with it being first week back at school. Today is a me and DS day. We've had a lovely day so far. I'd almost forgotten what it was like just the two of us. Makes me realise I need to save all these precious memories as he'll be starting school part time in January. :( I won't know what to do with myself when he does.

I cleaned for a friend today and she gave me £15 as a thank you. Problem is she gave me a cheque! I know I should be grateful but it means an extra trip into town. Although actually, now I think about it I found out I can buy fresh yeast in the bakers in town! And I can take my own container for them to put it in so no packaging :T So I could combine the two. Now that's a plan.

DH is currently putting DS to bed. He was crying so much (DS not DH) because he didn't want to go to bed but he was so tired. He's gone quiet now though so I bet he's asleep. I'm ashamed to admit it hurts me sometimes when the kids ask for DH to put them bed almost every night. But what I have to remember is that they don't see him that much. Most days he is gone before they wake up and a lot of the time he isn't back til bedtime. So I do understand that this is their special time with him.

Right DS is in nursery tomorrow so I need to come up with a plan to make the most of my child free time. Possibly work in the morning and sewing in the afternoon with a bit of cleaning thrown in. Something like that anyway :)

Aw ((()))) tis natural to feel wanted, but as you say, if they get very little time with their dad it's good that they want to see him - just think how sad it would be for him if they didn't want to (sorry, I hope that doesn't come across as me trying to make you feel guilty, I'm really not!) xx

:j for your extra £15, and fresh yeast, what a treat! :)
