:hello: to visitors. Always lovely to have people pop in. Must get the kettle on in case I get any more :D

Last day of school here for DD. She went in smiling this morning which is a bonus as she normally gets so upset at the thought of moving classes. We'll see how she is when I pick her up.

She's taken a Barbie doll to play with in school today as they are allowed to take toys in today.

I haven't popped in for ages. Nothing going on money wise at all. I'm feeling a bit down by that but I'm trying not to let it get to me. Although I was a bit surprised at myself on Tuesday. I had to go on a training course and had to go by train into Cardiff. Walking through the centre I had this overwhelming urge to go shopping. I'm not really a lover of clothes shopping so not sure where that came from. I do wonder if it was more to do with wanting the freedom to be able shop rather than the shopping itself. I don't know! Anyway I didn't shop but I did feel a little sad :(

Although we haven't got any money news or made any overpayments this month, we have been cracking on with sorting and decluttering. We got rid of another bag of clothes and shredded/recycled loads of unnecessary papers.

The dining room has been plastered (thanks DH) and needs one more coat of paint before it's done :D I can't wait to have a lovely dining room.

Job wise I have done everything I need to for the agency now. So just waiting for them, then hopefully they'll start offering me work :)

We have been very blessed this week. As I mentioned in post #681 our camping holiday highlighted the fact that our tent was too small for us now. We looked around for bigger tents and boy were they expensive!! DH wanted a roof box too as the car was fit to burst.

As we were coming out of a shop after pricing up roof boxes we bumped into friends of ours. Turns out they have a roof box from their previous car which doesn't fit their much bigger present car. They said we could have it for nothing! :D

Then a work colleague of DH's offered us their tent which is too big for them now their children have grown up :D I feel so blessed to have friends that are happy to unload their junk on us ;) seriously though they have saved us a lot of money and I am very grateful. :A

We've had a lovely day here. There's a big weekend in our local town and we spent most of the day there today. It was lovely.

Since we came home we have tried the tent in the back yard so we are pretty confident we know how to put it up tomorrow evening, and started packing all our bits and bobs. While pulling out all the camping stuff and looking for other things I managed to declutter and rehome 2 more boxes of stuff. (Why do we have so much carp that we don't need :o )

I am starting to look at things in a different light now since I started decluttering at the beginning of the year. Either it pulls it's weight or it's out. I'm sick of having loads of stuff that I don't use! I'm hoping by the end of the year our house will be a whole load tidier. We'll never be minimalists but that doesn't matter.

I know 9/20 doesn't look like much but it's not 9 individual items, that's 9 boxes or bags decluttered :D

    9 boxes and bags is BRILLIANT!! :j :j SO impressed :j :j :)

And how very wonderful to be given a tent AND a roof box! Those people probably thought you were doing them a favour taking them away as well. How ace :)

Last day of the month. How did that happen? July has just flown by. I didn't do very well this month at all money wise, what with quitting my 2nd job and all that. It'll be good when all the paperwork is in place so I can start with the agency.

Decluttering wise. I decluttered another box so total was 10/20 so I made half way. I'm pretty pleased with that as it does equate to quite a bit of stuff. It's also made me feel better about myself and about the house so :j

I think I may add a decluttering target for August too.

Money was very slow and i paid off no where near £500 :( must try harder in August.

    Let's have a look then.....

    My lowest month yet :(

Onward and upward (or downward for the debt!!)

    August
The kids are off school so I haven't got as much time as I normally would. However I have July to make up for.

    Challenges
Hmmmmm  definitely a decluttering challenge. As the kids are still off I will let myself off a little bit as I don't really have chance to pull boxes out of the attic so 10 should be an achievable target. Hopefully a nice easy-ish win for me after this month :o

There's always a money challenge. Without the extra job this will be hard but I need to keep achieving high totals otherwise we won't be debt free by Christmas  so this target has to be set at £500 I have only made this target twice since the beginning of the year and really that's not good enough.

Butts in gear. Here are the challenges

    August Challenge 0/£500
    Declutter 0/10
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
