Just checked banks (slipped a bit over the bank holiday)
and the loan payment has gone out. The balance has changed and is showing at £136.45 less. :j
That takes us to over £2k paid off and also over 20% :jGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Payday from my second job today.
£10 moved to savings account to make up my monthly savings amount.
£50 moved to loan and a NSD to boot!!
Banks are very tight though and I don't get my proper pay til Tuesday I think. Will have to have a quiet/cheap weekend.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Quiet/Cheap weekend being planned here too - all the best people, clearly!
I'm with Stripes on needing some check finding vibes - that sort of thing never happens to me! (Although that might be something to do with the speed with which I pay things in with - lightning fast in case whoever's sent it tells me it was a mistake and they want it back! :rotfl:)
Congrats on your figures on your loan too - that's brilliant! :T🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'm usually pretty good with banking cheques. Especially as the writer of one cheque is usually on my case if it's not banked within 2 days!!
This time however, I put the cheques in the secret pocket of my coat, then by the time we went to the bank I didn't need a coat then I forgot about them
Bit silly of me really as one cheque was for expenses.
Today DD has got her swimming lesson then I think we may put our new residents cards to the test and go and visit the castle for free :money:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Oooh, a free visit to a castle?? :j :j
Which reminds me - I MUST buy an easter egg and swap it for a free swimming session!Maybe I'll do that today

Yes we live very near to a town with a castle in it and I found out that if you live within the county borders you can get a 'resident's pass'. We went to the tourist info centre last week and got one each, which cost us £1 (each- baby is too young so gets in free anyway) then we get free entry to our local castle for 3 years. :j
Not sure if it's a Cadw thing or whether the same thing applies outside Wales too?
As it happens it was pouring down with rain and as most of the fun bits of the castle (for young ones) is outside we decided against it
DS is asleep on the settee (very tiring day yesterday) and DD is playing quietly upstairs in the playroom. I think she's playing with her barbie's by the sound of it.
Me? Well I'm adopting the 15mins of housework rule and inbetween, trying to sort out money stuff for a "money meeting" with DH on Monday to look at, and re organise our money and spending etc.
Something that's long overdue :cool:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Morning all
I had an extra shift at my second job last night so didn't get in til gone midnight. Then was up before 5 with DS who was coughing. I think he's coming down with a cold tbh. On the upside I have had a lovely chat with a lovely friend who was also up at silly o'clock
I am currently sat with a cuppa and said two year old sat on my shoulder! *shrugs* (carefully so toddler doesn't fall off)
Church this morning then up my parents for Sunday lunch. I'm so lucky they cook dinner for me on Sundays when DH works.
Baths and hair washing for kiddies tonight as it's back to school tomorrow after the Easter holidays. In a way I'll be glad for a bit of routine and normality to be back. I do like having them home and DS only goes 2 days a week, but boy it is chaos!!
DH and I are having a money meeting on Monday to go through everything and re look at budgets, future plans and debt busting :j I'm hoping it'll give us a renewed enthusiasm as well as more streamlined financesGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hey starnac - hope you have a nice morning service at Church, and agree that having lunch made for you is such a luxury
Hope the 'money meeting' goes well too, tomorrow. First day back to school means it obviously won't be a breakfast meeting

Greying
:rotfl: no. The way the holidays have been we'll be lucky if everyone is up, dressed and fed on time :rotfl:
More likely to be a 9.30am, "back from school run and boiled the kettle for a cuppa" meetingGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Residents card and free entry to castles is a brilliant thing - very definitely nothing like that around our way - although I did get a free visit to the local airfield on Saturday I guess - no card required though, just the sheer brass neck to wander about as though I'm meant to be there!
Good luck for the money meeting - we need one of those at the moment I think - we're bouncing against the annual OP limit on the mortgage so need to sort out what we're doing about that.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
