Nothing personally spent by me today. We have been tidying up and sorting the garden after the winter and we needed some weed killer for the path. I was going to buy some but DH ended up buying it as he had to take some cupboard doors back after he got the wrong ones and exchange them for new ones.
Also saved myself £5 by washing the car myself instead of taking it to one of those places where they wash it for you. Kids wanted to help too so it's not the best job but it def looks much cleaner and shinier
Technically a NSD for me but I won't claim it as DH bought the weed killer that we needed. So it's kind of cheating.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
still, it wasn't YOU that spent it!!
(mind you, don't listen to me, i'm a great one for bending NSD rules!

Yes RAOK is indeed a Random Act of Kindness. The man stands there day in day out in all weathers. Bless him. So I thought an Easter treat would have been nice. I suppose a cup if tea wouldn't have gone amiss either or maybe a sandwich but it's done now.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Now that is more like it - not all this mad shopping supermarket spendy fest! Thanks StarnacBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Yay for Raoks
Please be telling me however where the land of cheque finding is - idd like some myself

Diolch Igamogam I don't really understand the whole frenzy that surrounds bank holidays. Surely you can manage with the shops closing for one day?? Plus Easter shouldn't really be about the commercial aspect.Pippilongstocking wrote: »Yay for Raoks

Thank you pippi the land of cheque finding was in a coat pocket. I haven't worn the coat for about a month. I'd obviously put them there ready to go to the bank then I'm not sure what happened or why we didn't go to the bank then forgot about them. One was a cheque for expenses so really I should have banked that as soon as I had it but never mind. Banked now (over a 4day weekend so it'll take forever to clear)

DH has just taken DD to her swimming lesson. He doesn't normally get to take her as he's normally working a Saturday so it's nice for both of them.
Later this afternoon we are going to an Easter show. We went last year as a friend of mine organises it. She has a lot of mascots, Easter bunny, Angelina ballerina, that kind of thing plus Disney princesses and they do some dancing etc. all the children get to meet them and have their photo taken with them. DD loved it last year although DS was terrified of the mascots  hopefully this year he'll be better.
It was £5 a ticket so £20 that will come from my fun budget
We have some spends that can't be avoided next week but apart from those it should be a quiet (ish) week. On the money front anyway- it's never quiet with my kiddiesGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Oh starnac - I hear ya. DP had the radio on last night and I think it was on R3 or something, they have an 'essay' that the author reads. Anyway, this one was obviously Easter themed, and I laughed out loud in acknowledgement, when the author said, 'Easter has become an empty vessel; about nothing more than DIY and chocolate....'

I am extremely fortunate in my job as I spent the last 2 weeks of march taking the real Easter story to year 5/6 pupils (last two of juniors) it was such a privilege to explain the most important event in Christianity. Seeing them learn something new was also an experience. I'm sure teachers see this all the time but to actually explain some of the commercial aspects and put it in context to the first Easter was something else.
I can see why teachers find their jobs so rewardingGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Well that was a spendy bank holiday. I can't list it all as a lot of it was for a secret I can't share yet. Those spends did come out of the secret budget though so haven't set me back too much.
I also spend the b00ts vouchers my lovely sister gave me for my birthday. I took advantage of the 3 for 2 and the points I had on my advantage card to buy quite a bit. I bought cleanser, exfoliator, moisturiser, foundation, mascara, lipstick, deodorant and new heads for my razor. The woman colour matched my skin so that she could recommend foundation and I came out the lightest that they do! :rotfl: pale?? Moi??? Pretty shocking with my dark hair really!
£10 spent on a voucher for my niece's birthday. That came out of my spends account
£1 put in a charity bucket. Found in my purse
£1 spent on a skip and hop thing for DD. I was only telling her about them last week, telling her how I used to play with them as a child. Does anyone else remember them? They had a loop that went around your ankle and a ball on the end of a rope that you spun around and had to jump over with your other leg. Anyway saw one in the £1shop today so bought it. I've had a great time "teaching" her how to use it :rotfl:
I think that's all I've spent (apart from spends I can't mention here yet)
We are currently watching Spider-Man on DVD while waiting for DH to come home for tea.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
