A bungee cord may be a good idea Pippi thank you
It's not the going to bed that's an issue. He goes to bed lovely and falls asleep quite quickly (bottle and a story) but then he's awake again about 10.30-11pm wide awake wanting to play. He's awake til the early hours then, falling asleep about 1-2am. We don't allow him back downstairs and no lights are switched on when he wakes but he's just wide awake.
I'm finding it very hard tbh as I have to be up at 7am to get DD ready for school and DS goes to nursery 2 days a week now as well so he has to be up. He's tired and grumpy all the time and so am I. Not a happy household here at the moGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Stair gate Across his door? Some safe soft toys and let him work it out for himself if the rooms safe (which I'm sure it is) would he just pootle? Find it boring and slumber away?
My pal up here was having a similar prob and that how she dealt with it but lowering his cot/dropping side off and leaving a few safe things in his room and adding a stairgate
Might be worth a shot?
He's 2 on sunday!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

We've already done the cot thing. I'd be afraid if we put a stair gate across his door that he would cry and wake his sister up
Might try it in half term when it won't matter as much if he wakes her.
Thank you xGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Oh Starnac I am sorry to hear you are not getting much sleep.
DD2 used to do that between 2 and 3 yrs old bit I just tirelessly kept putting her back to bed without speaking to her and it seemed to work. The super nanny method!
I hope I gets better as lack of sleep is no fun at all!

Seriously I am so cross with myself right now!! is it actually possible to forget EVERYTHING in 4 years??
Thank you OF. We used to SuperNanny DD all the time. Seriously why didn't I think of doing it with DS?? I feel so thick.
Couldn't see the wood for the trees :mad:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I could seriously kick myself for not thinking of SuperNanny. I blame no tv! When DD was small I used to work nights and SuperNanny repeats kept me company at 3am :rotfl:
Anyway.......moving on from my stupidity.......
I sold a cupcake maker on FB yesterday. My in laws bought it for me about 2 Christmases ago but tbh I hardly use it. Yes it makes cupcakes in 8 minutes but the recipe I use in the oven tastes much nicer (blind test on the kids) plus I can do other jobs while the cakes are in the oven for 30 minutes instead of having to watch the cupcake maker for pretty much the whole 8 minutes.
Anyway....that was a very longwinded way of saying I don't use itso I sold it. The lady came round today to pick it up. She was so pleased. It was for her daughter (it was bright pink) and her daughter had a friend staying over tonight so perfect timing for her. And £5 and a bit of cupboard space for me
That is going straight off the window loan once I decide the best way to do it (put the £5 in the bank and transfer it or transfer money from bank and use £5er as cash)
If I remember rightly we should get our statement for the window loan in February and last year it showed a big reduction in the interest. For some reason they don't adjust the interest to compensate for overpayments until feb each year. So I'm hoping When the statement comes I'll be able to knock a bit more off the total when I know how much interest we've saved.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I finally had an email from the Big Gas company and they owe me £81 after our switch :j Had to laugh though as he email said "This will be carried forward to your next bill" Umm no I don't think so. I rang them up and apparently it'll take 10working days to go back into my account. I mean come on!!! It's ridiculous
At least that'll be a bit more to pay off our debts. February is shaping up to be a good debt busting month. £170ish from the electric £80odd from the gas and £86 from not paying council tax.
I've also upgraded my mobile phone too. I initially said no as I love the phone I currently have and don't want to change it, but when I looked into it, by upgrading I could have a brand new phone for less than I'm paying now. It was a no brainer really. So I upgraded, saving myself £20 a month and I have a brand new phone (that I'm not really bothered about) which I plan to sell. It's quite a high end phone too so I'm hoping that will bring in quite a bit.
Last bit of money news I promise, but I have got myself a 2nd job. It will be every other weekend in the evenings. So no childcare and I don't miss too much of the kiddies. I won't earn much but it'll be something. I plan to do it for a year, using the money to save for a family holiday and debt busting. [STRIKE]Hopefully[/STRIKE] I will be debt free by the end of the year and then money will be less tight and I won't need to work the extra hours. We can only see.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

That's what I'm hoping CMD. It's been long enough now. So one tough year while the kids are still too young to really notice. That's the plan anyway

Great plan. It's what I am planning to do myself. And you are right, when they are young they won't notice at all.
