Had a lovely weekend here. DD had her first ballet recital yesterday. She looked gorgeous (not biased at all!) she was brilliant. She danced so well and wasn't put off at all by all the people watching like some of them were. I was so proud of her. She was a star.

Payment is finally in our bank account today :j DH needs to pay that off his c/c this evening.

Following martins advice too we have contacted our old mortgage companies about our exit fees. They are going to look into it and get back to us.

DH has also written to the tax people about tax relief on washing his uniform so hopefully that will come back with a cheque soon. I haven't worn a uniform to work since I did bar work while I was in uni. I get to wear my own clothes to work so no tax relief for me :(

I'm in a bit of a strange mood today. I have crossed the decade threshold and last night I lay in bed thinking about what exactly I have achieved during the last decade. I married my husband, been blessed with 2 wonderful children, we have our own home and we both have jobs that we enjoy doing (even if I don't like the actual place I work ATM)

I do feel like kicking myself that we haven't cleared our debts yet even though we are close. This decade I really need to get our finances sorted. We are not yet in our "forever home" so we would need savings for that once our debts are cleared.

We have an extremely busy week this week with my birthday party and the baby's baptism both on the weekend so starting next week I am on a mission to get rid of the last remaining debts (and the last 3lbs I haven't managed to shift yet)

I had a lovely day yesterday for my birthday. DH worked a very long shift and I was glad to see him home. He'd made me a lovely birthday cake. At the beginning of the year I had said that everyone would be getting handmade presents for their birthdays as we wouldn't be able to afford presents. DH is not very creative thinking but decided he would make me something for my birthday as he knows I love handmade things.

I had mentioned a while ago how much I would love a basket to carry my shopping in (think red riding hood) when I pop to the local shops as we have to pay for carrier bags in Wales now. He looked it up on the Internet and found a lady in west Wales who grows willow and sells basket making kits. He was going to buy one and make me one but I kind of spoilt the surprise as I asked DS's godmother to be where she bought hers from (as I haven't seen them in the shops) and she told me she had 3 and I could have one of hers. She brought two in to show me and let me choose which I wanted. I did wonder why DH didn't seem as pleased as I was!

So DH made me a cake instead as I am usually the one making cakes for everyone else. He did a good job too as he iced it (which I can't do) and it looked really good. Cake was a bit flat though but I don't mind! I told him he has to show me how he iced it so well!

I had a wonderful weekend. The party was lovely and so was the baptism. I can't believe how many people came to both. I was convinced no one would turn up or the party but loads of people did and the church was packed on Sunday too. We even had to get more chairs!

Spent a bit much on both though what with food etc so really need to tighten our belts for the rest of the month. I've started back doing my daily clicks as I have been very lax doing them since DD has been off school. Hopefully I'll get back into them again properly next week when she's back in school. I'm close to payout on both SB and donkeym4il$ so need to build those up a bit more.

Also doing a car boot a week Sunday so hopefully will do well there. Got a lot of baby stuff to get rid of so hopefully they'll go well.

Right off to do the rest of my daily clicks while DS is asleep and DD is playing in the dining room

Hello LT hope you are almost settled in!

Oh no nothing's under control here! It never is :rotfl:

When I said I would do my clicks while DD was playing in the dining room......big mistake. I heard something clinking and when I went to see she had all my best cake stands/serving dishes out playing with them

*note to self - move them into a cupboard she can't reach*
