    Hi Starnac,

No snow forecast here - just tonnes of rain.

I really struggled getting out of bed this morning! We have a new mattress and it was the comfiest I have ever been since we've had it!

I have to get my DD2 to allow me to walk with her (she is 10) She walks on a friday and this is the only school day I sometimes have off so se tries not to roll her eyes when I ask to walk her...she then has to imessage her friends to say she won't be meeting them :D

Great news about the swimming refund - we got to the same point with DD. I also silently cheered when she gave up guitar (she wasn't learning anythinbg - not musical at all!)

I hope you are all well

Hi OF. I know what you mean about the guitar lessons. DD dances and I pay weekly for that. Personally I would prefer to pay monthly as it takes away the fuss of getting cash out all the time but on the up side if she decides she doesn't want to go one week then I use the class fees for something else! :rotfl:

DH was paid on friday so we did a bit of a money shuffle. Our j/a overdradt has gone down slightly and we managed to put some money into savings. I always struggle paying off the overdraft as you can't really see the benefits til the end of the month. So I'm allowing it to come down by budgeting better and I'm moving money into our personal accounts to reduce our personal o/d but I'm also putting money in savings so that eventually I'll have enough to pay it all off in one go. Probably not the best way to do it but it's the way I prefer it.

We also may need 2 new windows soon. When DS was a baby we had all brand new windows and doors apart from the two upstairs front ones as they were a lot newer compared to the others. Unfortunately there's a lot of condensation on DS's bedroom window now and I found a small patch of mold near his window sill so I think it probably needs replaced now. We were supposed to be getting a quote for it on friday but the guy never turned up. I'd like to be able to pay for them up front so I need a bit of savings behind us.

There's always something to be replaced or done up with a house isn't there Star?

Look at how far you've come though? I really want rid of our debts this year so we can pay for stuff with savings too.

Ah yes, we want to go down the new windows route soon too. Did you see the details that (I think it was) fanny adams posted on Cheery's diary for the company who simply replace the blown units, which suits if the frame is OK? Might be handy if they have somewhere in your area.

Great work on the OD too - I'd be inclined to say it doesn't really matter how you're doing it, it's the fact that you ARE doing it that makes all the difference! :T

Thanks EH yes I did see that but I fear it's the frames :( We've got someone coming round to have a look at them on friday to give us a quote. We'll see.

Well I have a poorly boy home from school so not much work getting done. I am enjoying the cwtches though ;)

I'm being inspired by how organised I was this time submitting my tax return that I spent yesterday making sure that all our accounts were up to date ready for April. I take care of all the accounts and usually end up chasing DH for his bits for months so I'm starting early in the hope that I can get them submitted early again for this financial year.

Not very MSE here today as the heating is on (DS is cold even though he's under a blanket bless him). Usually I just layer up but it's not fair to expect him to when he's not well

Definitely the right thing to put the heating on and hang MSE when you've got a poorly little person. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Good work on the accounts/tax return stuff. Go and give Mrs Stripes a kick on that front will you?! :D I'm with you on getting it submitted early, makes far more sense to do it while things are still fresh in your ind, aside from everything else I would have said.

You've reminded me that I need to file my tax return for the sale of our flat last year! Last UK tax return I have to do!

Definitely right to get the heating on. I'm a cold creature myself so probably have the heating on far too much myself. Lol

    Ooh visitors. :hello:

Pippi how about we all try to submit before the end of April this year? Me, you and EH? Last one to submit gets a kick up the bum! :rotfl:

CMD I'm very cold blooded so end up with a million layers on whereas DH walks round in shorts in all weathers! And get on your tax return. I can't remember when you sold it. Does it need to be submitted by the end of this month for the 2014-2015 year or next year for the 2015-2016 year?

Still got a poorly boy here. My mum took DD to school again this morning so that Mister didn't need to be pulled about in this weather. It's -1*C here and it feels so bitterly cold. I've wrapped DD in a scarf, hat and big thick coat but all her gloves are too small so shopping on the weekend to buy her new ones I think. Unfortunately they are not something I have ever knitted.

Quiet day here with DS I think. I got quite a bit of cleaning done yesterday just through pottering bits and pieces when I had the chance to. He's so cwtchy that he just wants me all the time, which is nice but also a bit of a pain as I'm limited as to what I can do. At the minute I am just enjoying the time with him and pottering when I can.

I'm out for a run tonight. I hope it's warmer than earlier in the week. It was so cold I struggled to catch my breath! Really disturbing.
