What was I saying about contented children? DS has been up the last two nights with a "scary bedroom" It has to be change of routine with going back to school as he was just starting to sleep in his own bed all night. He really didn't want to get up this morning but I pay extra for him to go to the wraparound nursery care this morning so that I can get a full day's work in while he's not here. Problem is I'm pretty tired too due to a "not tired" 4 year old keeping me up most of the night.
I need to get going before I spend too long on herebit of flylady needs doing today too. Without DS here I should be able to fit in 2x 15 minutes around the work I need to do. Let's go

Still not much sleep here
*sigh* The joys of kids!
I do have a bit of good money news though. The pool where DD has her swimming lessons has closed for refurbishment and DD has decided that she wants to stop her lessons. Swimming lessons has always been the one thing we have insisted on but she is now at the point where the lessons are all about competition style swimming now and we are not that bothered about that. More that if ever she was on the water with DH and the boat capsized, she could swim back to the boat/to safety.
So we agreed to let her stop. Problem is, I pay by direct debit and they've taken the money out for the last 2 months after I had asked them to stop it. My fault I suppose for believing they would do it and not stopping the direct debit myself. Anyway, today they have finally sorted the refund to my account :j It's only £30 but on the other hand, it's £30!! :rotfl:
That will go into our "debt savings".
DH gets paid on Friday and our j/a overdraft is looking a bit better than this time last month so hopefully I'll be able to change my signature to show that we've paid some money off our o/d :TGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Well done for spotting that they'd taken it and getting it back, at least! That's the main thing. Handy to have that bit extra each month too - and like you say, swimming enough for safety purposes is the thing, isn't it, so if DD's not enjoying it any more, it makes sense all round!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yes I spotted it the first month it was taken and rang them up, they told me not to stop the direct debit as they wouldn't be able to put it back in the account otherwise. Then they took the second month!! Then they wanted me to email them my bank details. I don't think so! Anyway should finally be sorted now.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
morning all. Not much to report today. It's so cold out this morning. I froze on the school run. I actually slept under two blankets last night as I was so cold the night before I barely slept. So DH found the spare quilt we have and I had that on top of our normal one and I was toasty
meaning I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning
Didn't fancy ringing the school saying "DD won't be in school this morning as I'm too snugly under my duvet!" :rotfl: it's a valid excuse though right??

:rotfl::rotfl: Well it certainly ought to be! Oh for the point when they're old enough to take themselves to school, eh?!
I've got a fleece blanket over the top of the duvet at the moment - I think changing for the winter weight duvet is now a job to add to the Friday list though as it doesn't look to be getting any warmer for a few days!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

oh yes indeed! Did you hear about that toddler who was found walking to nursery by herself because she couldn't wake her mum? Awful awful story but I must admit the first thing that crossed my mind was that there was no way my toddler would take himself to school, he would just get back into bed and think his luck was in!:rotfl::eek:
In all seriousness though it was an awful story, coupled with the pregnant mum who went back into a burning house to save her toddler and they both died, I've tried to stay away from the news. I am so blessed and I need to remind myself of that every day!
It has turned cold EH. Apparently we are forcast snow for tomorrow. Although it certainly is cold enough for snow, I'm not holding my breath. We are not that lucky hereGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Everyone keeps telling me there's snow forecast but I don't think we'll be seeing any of it in London sadly!
Missed those news stories thank goodness - I tend to stick with the radio & TV news for the most part - so only usually hear/see what they want to mention.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
