Thank you for your kind words ladies. I barely slept last night, worrying about everything. DD has been extra nice and helpful today so maybe me being "mean" did work in someway.

We have been out today, got some errands done, plus some nice things too. DS also had his swimming lesson and for the first time he got in the pool by himself without crying :T We may be getting somewhere. I hope x

Today is looking up. I had a cheery morning at a friend's house with our kids playing nicely. DD also has a birthday party later on and have a gift and card from my stash so thats good :money:

Payday for me so have moved £200 into the building work account. We are so close now. By the time DH gets paid mid November we should have enough to get it done. :T

I've had a good money day too. We've been without hot water for about a week as something was wrong with the boiler. DH has slowly pulled it apart over the evenings he hasn't been working (his dad was a gas engineer and has taught him loads) and thank God he has managed to fix it. Without it costing us anything. :j

Plus I got a cheque in the post this morning from the AI compensation scheme thing. I bought the protection when I was in uni thinking I was doing a good thing. But now the scheme has been looked into and a lot of customers are getting money back. I got just over £62 :T Nice one.

Is it true these things come in threes?? :rotfl:

Too late for the lottery I'm afraid CMD. Not long after I posted here I checked my email and found a refund notice for some dance shoes I'd ordered DD. when they came they were the wrong size so I rang and explained and the guy said if I sent them back he would send me new (correctly sized) ones and refund my postage cost for sending them back. So I did and new ones arrived the next day (excellent customer service) The email now shows that they are refunding the whole cost not just the postage. I've tried ringing them to see if it was a mistake but I can't get an answer. :( Close to £20 back in my account. Happy days.

Al cheques in bank and my balance is looking pretty good. Shame some of it has to go to something else as soon as it clears :( never mind. We are getting there slowly. Joint account overdraft is looking a lot healthier than this time last month. As long as we don't go mad before DH gets paid then we should be looking at a significant drop in the overdraft :T we do have to pay for a party for DS this month, hall hire and a bouncy castle which isn't cheap but you are only 4 once! :rotfl:

Today is a houseworky kind of day. One load already in the washing machine with at least another one on the floor next to the machine waiting its turn. Washing up all done and mostly put away, kitchen worktops have been cleared and anti bac-ed. Coffee table of doom is the next thing to tackle and flylady (through Pippi) has informed me that I need to do the dining table too which is currently under a lot of sewing stuff!

I also need to write a cheque for DS's school trip to see Santa

Hopefully it's going in the right direction now.

DD and I had words this morning. Seems to be a regular thing at the moment. I thought I had until she reached her teenage years. Obviously not! :( I was making her lunch and for the 2nd day in a row she had brought her cake back home. When I asked why she hadn't eaten it she told me she didn't like it. I asked her why she hadn't told me she didn't like it and she gets stroppy and says "you are always rushing me in the morning. You don't let me do anything" I rush her as she takes ages to get out of bed then just sits on the settee watching youtube with her brother. I have said over and over again that if she gets ready first then she can sit and watch youtube. Apparently though, that's not fair  I can see why Mother Gothel locked Rapunzel in the tower now :rotfl::rotfl:Any advice?

  • Morning sweetie.

I'd take the device/utube away in the mornings. Even just for this week and talk about it. Just say until we can get ready without any rushing, we can't watch it.

It will only take a few days of firmness to get back on kilter.

You might want to talk to DS quietly and get him on side telling him we're helping his sister to get ready quicker. And we all like to help right.

    Its what I would do.

Don't go locking them in towers - they'll only tweet it. :P

YAY to reducing overdrafts. I'm not even thinking about mine xx
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
