EH how lovely to see you. Yes it's pretty good news here money wise. And health wise I suppose as I am feeling much better despite not having all my stitches taken out yesterday *sigh*

I couldn't not buy those tickets. We had such a great time at Cardiff Castle this year. I was gobsmacked by how much they were though

  • When Mr EH bought the Bryan Adams tickets last year those were £96 for the two I think...and apparently that's not expensive for gig tickets now?!

Morning all. Feels like a Monday today as kids had a day off school yesterday. I have some housework that needs doing this morning then meeting up with a friend who is going to help me sort out the arrangements for the next 4 weeks with work. This afternoon after DS goes to school I have some sewing to do as I have a craft fair a week on Sunday and need to make sure I have enough stock.

Weather is awful here. We could swim to school if it keeps up

  • Great news re: the money Star. You must be feeling great about that.

Sorry to hear you had to have a procedure done. Hope you are starting to feel a bit better now. Sounds like a rough couple of weeks.

The weather here across the water is the same. It's bucketing rain out there. Really miserable weather.

I think ye deserved them concert tickets after you being so poorly and DH doing all the overtime :)

Haha no. I have been so busy. Christmas is obviously very busy for the church and I have done loads of schools work in the run up to December. I've also been trying to hand make most of our Christmas presents....which is not going well at the moment :o

Money wise, we were doing so well and were just about to start thinking about starting an emergency fund and the wind took some slates off the roof and water got in so £300 gone there! Always seems to be the way. Just as we get back on track something happens *sigh* I won't let it beat me this time though. We are so close to being debt free I won't allow it.

Anyone want to send a winning lottery ticket this way?

I'd love to :D Just wait til I find one :D :rotfl:

Good job you had that £300 to hand! :j :j Grr to water coming through the roof though - we've got a bucket under ours at the minute, most depressing. Fortunately it only happens when it's raining VERY heavily and the wind's blowing in the wrong direction!
  • Grr what is it about roof tiles at this time of year we've also had a roofer out and an estimate for 330

Its not fun. Damp in the front room, coving is compromised. (whatever coving is)

Hope you're having a great weekend with that clever and supertalented family of yours. x

  • Well being on the ground floor with three households above us SHOULD mean no issues with leaks or damp, sadly with our upstairs neighbours nothing is certain!

In the grand scheme of things, with how far you've come, that £300 is really almost nothing is it - and for work that clearly HAD to be done. Just think of it as money that you would, otherwise, have put into the emergency fund being spent for just that - an emergency!

Morning everyone. Thank you for your kind words about the roof money.

Well kids have broken up from school and we've had a pretty full on weekend so I've promised them they don't have to do pretty much anything today. A nice lazy day in their PJ's should recharge their batteries a little.

Me? Well I've started flylady :T My sink has been shined two nights in a row now and both DH and I have been keeping on top of the washing up which hardly ever happens :o

Today I need to do 15 minutes in both the dining room and my bedroom. I might do two lots of 15mins in both depending how the day goes. At some point today I also need to see how I'm doing present wise and I'm supposed to be going for a run this evening. I might make a list to make it easier to see what I need to do.

    Washing on
    Hang on airer
Keep on top of washing up
    15 mins in bedroom
    15 mins in dining room
Put new diary inserts in planner
Put presents received yesterday under the tree
Meals from stores (should be easy - not leaving the house :D)
Kids fed and watered throughout day ;)
    15 mins in bedroom
    15 mins in dining room
Check presents made and what's left to do
    Make present for C
    Run this evening

This should be enough I think. I hope. If not I have a few more days to get organised

    Okay let's get going
