For someone who is bedbound he certainly buys a lot of tools, and he has knocked out several Bossons pieces for hundreds so I wouldnt think he was "hard up".
Its feels a bit odd this one have to say. The other consideration is if he has repaired the camera, has he done anything other than fix the door? If he has then its possible he could have attempted to fix it himself and broken it. He has bought a couple of "fixer uppers" so maybe he fancies himself as a repairman but isnt actually any good?
Too late now, but with the benefit of hindsight (wonderful thing hindsight) you would have been better stating it had been dropped and needed repairing with a sold as seen, no refunds clause. The problem with selling damaged electrical goods is you will always get one person who assumes they can fix something, discovers they cant and bodges it. Then they come back to the seller for a refund. tis a sticky area.

Do not refund until you get it back otherwise you will never see the item again, sounds similar to someone who tried the same with me.Debt Free Wannabee - Updated 13/08/2007

and got the following last night
Hi Peter, I'm not willing to wait that long Peter and also you then have
everything, you have my money and the camera and I've got to pay again for
the return postage,is that fair, you know that's not fair.I've had to work
hard enough to get you this far,I Mean, what difference does it make sending
you the camera, its Kodak CX6230 you know that and it does'nt work, you know
that,I can tell you that,it's not a valuable item, you only do that if it's
valuable, your playing about. Please just give me my total refund first and
I'll then pay the return postage and send you back your camera, so we both
loose on the postage, thats still not fair but I do it,as I should loose
nothing.I had to send you money to recieve the camera and you should do the
same, send me my money and I'll send you the camera.
Thanks Ken
I'm going to stand my ground - has he got a leg to stand on (excuse the pun as he says he's bedridden)

Grrrrrrrrr! He is pushiing his luck. What is he playing at? Any ebay seller/buyer knows that it is common practice to return faulty goods for inspection before a refund is given. I think he is playing you cos you have a relatively low feedback score. Even tho it's 100% 1 negative will show up like a sore thumb and that's why he thinks he can do this.
Mail him saying that you will refund return postage costs upon receipt and inspection of the camera.Don't sweat the small stuff ................It's all small stuff!0 -
well, to be honest, I sympathize Ken! In your product description, it said
"Kodak easyShare CX6230 Digital Camera, works well except it has been dropped requires a replacement battery compartment holder"
I don't think you should say it works well. You should only say worked well. How do you know it works well, if the door was damaged when you sold it. That was certainly a misleading.
Tell him post it back using recorded delivery, then refund him. Do me a favour!0
