  • Wait til you get it back. I don't particularly like his tone or his need to mention his illness and threaten a negative, but I think he sounds genuine.

I agree, I'll wait until I get it back. I just wonder if he was trying to get me to refund it and then say don't bother to send it as it is broken. Therefore he gets a free camera!

    Am I just being paranoid?

Not paranoid, sensible :) No-one with a brain gives a refund before getting the item back... unless it's virtually worthless.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • I have just checked his recent bidding history and he has purchased a few similar cameras - not bad considering he can't afford a new one. I think he's dodgy and would tread very carefully - definitely don't refund until you get the camera back :)

It wasn't - you've seen both the messages he's sent

I think it was his tone from the start that got my back up

    Thanks

Thanks for that - do you think its worth contacting a few of the others to see if they are having the same problems?

By the way, how did you get that list?

    Thanks

    Send him a polite note:

    Hi,

I will be glad to refund you once I have received the item back and I have been able to check my security markings. I apologise for my hesitance but I have been ripped off before and these days I take precautions in case of a dishonest buyer switching my item.

Sorry again and I look forward to receiving the camera back.

    Love, Seller.

I checked out a few of his purchases and the only one that i think could be iffy is for a faulty sony ericcson phone - he left the following feedback - GREAT SERVICE,VERY KID AND UNDERSTANDING,VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

On another note though, he states that he is bedridden on his about me page

    Hope this helps :)

  • If you look at his About Me page, he also seems to be soliciting for off-eBay sales:

If your interested in buying Bossons or Legend pieces please get in contact as I've always got loads of them for sale, which are all nice pieces. I only sell to keep my mind busy and fund my own collecting

I don't think Me pages count as rule breaking unless they're obscene, illegal or blatantly offensive... I could be wrong though.

  • Thanks everyone for all your quick reponses - I really don't know what to think, so I'm going to wait for his answer:confused:

I've sent him a messge asking for it back and that I'll refund when I get it, so I'm just going to have to wait and see

I'm very supprised at the speed of your answers, I didn't know there were so many MoneySAavers out there!!!!!

    Cheers
