Happy St Andrews Day to all Matrix peeps, the Saltire is flying in this part of Hertfordshire
And we have snowNot a huge amount, maybe about an inch. Luckily I am working from home :j as the car is in the garage which is only a few minutes away. It has already been safely delivered there and it was a nice walk home in some virgin snow.
Some great driving advice by earlier posters, for those of you that have to venture out keeps safe and mind the idiots:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

I went into LLanishen yesterday (outskirts of Cardiff) all the main roads were clear, but we have had more snow over night. about another 1/2". So not sure now.Cheery_Daff wrote: »More snow here, and it's still snowing quite hard, very picturesque, but I'm very glad I'm working at home today!
I think the reason we struggle to deal with it in this country is because it doesn't happen that often, so there's no point investing in the infrastructure like they would somewhere like Norway where it happens all the time.Cheery_Daff wrote: »Drive carefully, and not unless you absolutely *have* to (and remember to reassess your idea of what you HAVE to do!)Some great driving advice by earlier posters, for those of you that have to venture out keeps safe and mind the idiots
OK... breakfast eaten, need to process more laundry, shower and dress and then see whether I have time for a little light housework before my first client call...
I must remember to make the christening cake this afternoon, as if I DO have to go to Wales, this is my last chance to do the baking.0 -

Great driving advice from earlier posters. I would like to reiterate what Maty says here, however its not just idiots that will cause you problems. I had a very bad crash on Saturday, nobody else involved, I wasnt going fast I had slowed right down to go around a bend, hit black ice on a road that was fully gritted and ended up in ploughing through a fence into a farmers field. I was making a journey that was necessary (turned out it was a wasted attempt but thats another story) so I would say that unless you are fully trained in dealing with driving in bad conditions, are a member of the emergency services and peoples lives depend on you getting to work then please, please leave the car at home. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
I am so sorry and I do sympathise with those struggling with the snow but we still have none and being a child at heart I would like some please

We got about 2 cms of snow overnight, gutted as we were forecast loads and REALLY wanted a snow day. Oh well, i'll just have to crack on with the Christmas Prep after all, hopefully i might even do enough to produce a TADA list!
Happy Tuesday everyone0 -
*sends some snow to DT*
We've got quite a lot here - I'm currently bloomin' freezing at work!
It really winds me up when people try to travel for things that aren't necessary in really bad weather - what do they think is going to happen if they miss one day at work (unless as Greenbee says, they actually have a vital lifesaving role).Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Runs into the room shouting Wooooohoooooo!!!!!
Won't hear a word against the men from BT - he spent yesterday practicaly rewiring all the telephone cable from the pole to my house and inside too. Poor soul out inthe snow - but I kept him going with mocha coffee and Twink's Hob Nobs.
He has just been back and fitted two supression filters and fingers crossed that I not only have a Broadband Connection but a stable one at that.
I betcha I have got loads to catch up on becasue haven't been able to get online since got back in the wee small hours of Sunday (trip from hell back from Manchester that ended in having to stand for an hour in Edinburgh Station freezing my tush). Got home and there was about 8" of snow - so only just made it on the last train.
School all cancelled here - completely snowed in and not worth moving. Plan is to pull the business model completely apart and fix these gaps - stepping into unknown territory here, so fingers crossed.
So many questions to ask, that I hope have been covered. Like how is baby Winky getting on? and how many fotball tops did we get? - Oh and Olive, remember I have gt some money still here to go towards the shipping.
So I hope you are all warm and toasty - and I hope that you don't HAVE to go driving on those horrible road surfaces. I trust you all- but I don't trust the other nutters on the road.:D
Off to make a pot of tea and settle down for a catch-up.
