Usually just the "perpetual" spinach -throw it in a shady area and keep damp - and I have a north facing set of beds that are perfect. Seems to be if they get even a little hot they bolt.

Mind you we like chard, kale and all sorts of green leafies here - especially in spinach lasagne and stuffed pancakes.

Yum.. likewise - this year we're growing lots of leafy things for salads and cooking - chard, spinach, komatsuna, shiso (red and green), land cress, Italian salad mix, French salad mix, purslane, kale, turnip leaves, beet leaves.. you get the idea, not gonna be able to move for leaves soon :rotfl:Will be out foraging over the Easter hols as well, I know an amazing spot for tons of wild garlic :)

TMIF - Love nearly all of those things, but I agree with everyone else about the slugs.....

MG very interested in your self watering containers - do tell? I could find those really useful

I have planted some fuschias this morning, on our upstairs window sill in little pots from poundland till weather allows planting out - end of May I am told. Was only going to plant stuff for eating but they are so pretty, and I have some hanging baskets in the back of the shed that I can use so that will be a lovely display

Been out for a long walk and a sit in the sun today - amazing hiow much better it makes you feel.

Fab news MG, and well done to others on the positivity! It really does make a difference to how you feel, and how you deal with people I think, which can make working relationships so much better :T

I like the idea of doing the scary thing first, but I must confess that I *love* frogs, and feel a special affinity with them :D I have a little silver frog on a necklace, apparently they are a symbol of something that facilitates the miraculous, and I like that so much I'm afraid I'm reluctant to eat them :rotfl:

So - my task for the day - think of something else disgusting that I can eat and get over and done with, that isn't a lovely miracle-facilitating frog :D :rotfl:

Cheery, it is not about having pet frog - I rather like them as well. It is about eating a live frog (I also happen to like them cooked):rotfl:.

I'm giving up - I've tried three times to write a description of the gravity fed, self watering planters - and even I don't understand what I am building:mad:

I'm going to get DS1 to video me in the morning and throw it up on You-tube - save a lot of grey hairs all around;)

I'm afraid am off to bed now - too long chatting last night so I am "wabbitt"

I used to have some plant pots that had a 'wick' in them, and somehow the plants got 'just' enough water. I never really worked it out!
