If you aren't religious, please remember to tick No Religion on the Census - don't write a 'funny' one in! Particularly if you only tick a religion out of habit, or because you were christened, not because you actually follow it. Government base funding decisions on the percentage of people that tick it, so for example they give a higher percentage to faith schools rather than general education.

No offence to religious people intended though.

The weather is wild up here today. Been cleaning like a good un and off to bake some muffins now then maybe a bit of lying along the sofa before my friend gets here. X

The weather is c r a p here, and it matches my mood. We've just had hailstones line ping-pong balls:eek::mad:.

Have stayed so positive over everything including my redundancy, but i got the news this morning that my DSS is being medically discharged from the Army and it is official.
He had to wait till mid Feb for an appointment to see the specialist, and got his results back after extensive testing yesterday.
A 17 year old who has done himself and us proud by sticking out phase 1 training, run miles in full combat gear and a 50 pound back pack. Completed lots of courses and received muntiple certificates for his engineering apprenticeship, and its all over now.
    AM totally gutted for him.
The Army turned him from a stroppy. unco-operative teenager into an independent young man with principles and pride in himself, and as a kid who couldn't take school discipline, this was no mean feat.
I know full well that a soldier who cannot run distance without his feet swelling would be nothing but a liability to his platoon, especially in a place like Afganistan (where he would have been going in November after completeing Catterick phase 2).
Right this moment in time though he isn't seeing it that way.
It's almost as if the universe has taken away from the only thing he ever wanted and tried so hard to achieve. (I know its not the fault of the Universe).
He's coming home for the weekend and then goes back Monday for 2 more medical appointments, de-briefing, and a reintroduction to civilian life, why my boy though????????
He didn't deserve this, even though its beyond all our control, and then there is the eternal question "Where do we/I go from here".

Sorry for the rant girls and guys, am just so gutted and bitterly disappointed for him, I needed to vent.
For DSS, i have to try and stay outwardly positive, he deserves no less. Internally though I am so angry at circumstances at the moment. It will pass I know, but OMG, when it rains on my parade, I get a monsoon :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.

Right rant/vent over, onwards and upwards RIGHT???????????????
WOuld really appreciate some positive vibes for Jamie/DSS and if you could spare some for me please, would appreciate that too.

    Sorry xxx:(:(:(:(:(:o:o:o

So sorry to hear this, Fantasia. But let us hope that all the skills and competencies (including character building) will serve him well in whatever he decides to do next.

Oh Fantasia, I'm so sorry for him, and for you too as this is obviously going to hit the whole family. :( Fingers crossed in the longer term you will all be able to draw positives from it, but at the moment it's just too raw to even start thinking of that. All the positive vibes I can muster heading your way.

Mostly working - well done! Only 'krust' is a bit out of place - this means 'cross'. But you are doing better than my husband of 20 years.

Hi guys, when Little Boy was three years old and I was filling in his nursery application I got to the question about religion. Being the extrovert I am, I was talking myself through it so it went like this:

Me: "Religion, you don;t have religion. Shall we put NA here?"
    He: "I have religion, mummy."
Me: "What is your religion then?"
    He: "Happy."

I would gladly join a religion like that, I thought.

    Firewalker

    Me too :)

Fantasia - Hugs for you and for DSS. Sending you both positive vibes so that you might see this not as an end but the start of a new chapter xxx
