congratulations FW. how do they work then? Do you still get paid and you can concentrate your time on the writing. Love the idea of a 4 hour work week. Might have to buy that book to see if I can fit it in with my new life abroad.

TMIF, the job is Head of Finance and Administration at the Royal School of Church Music in Salisbury. A bit different from what I am doing now!
You'll be near me then :-) Want to buy my house :p I'm looking at houses in Winchester at the moment, so if you want to move there I can let you know what the market is like. If you're coming down to have a look round, then give me a shout.

presentation went OK - all pictures and no words (except the ones I uttered). Firts for me - usually I think in words and images do not come easy. But getting better at this.
That's great. I'm not allowed to have images only, but much prefer it. It's harder to write, but I find it much more effective when presenting. I hope you found it positive.

    Congrats on the sabbatical!

Yes, you do get paid - the thing is that writing is a major part of the job. Also it is an acknowledgement that people 'burn out' and need time to recover so their creativity improves - it is no vacation though. I had to submit a plan of output and stuff. In fact, some private companies have sabbaticals as well.

    Excited, I am.

Well done Firewalker and best of luck Crickett! :)

News just in: expensive musical instrument I asked the Universe for the money for is ready for dispatch. I just need to send the money.

New request to Universe: I wish to get the job I will have an interview for sometime in the relatively near future. I also want to be very good at playing this new instrument, and write a book. Thanks! :):)

    Good morning

Blue skies here :) looks like we will have a nice day, hope so I have put a load of washing on the line, it was a bit nippy out, but there is a breeze so the clothes should dry.

I have to mend an Anklet for a lady this morning and take it up to her shop in the market.

I think it is rather cool that I would be near a Matrix bod...! I don't know if I want to buy at first... it depends if hubby comes down with me straight away or if I work there and he works up here. We shall see.

Okay, need to get real. I have not even been invited for an interview yet, and frankly, I don't want to tempt fate. Although I will admit to making lots and lots of plans last night. :rotfl:

Claire, I wish it was nice weather here... its horrible! Dank, dreary, wet and generally icky. But it is Friday and whoopee....!

Have a nice day everyone. I am off to sink myself into work and NOT think about the job prospect. :D

Morning all, what a beautiful spring morning it is here. Lots to do in work today but feeling bright and chirpy.

Firewalker that is even greater news then. I am so pleased for you. It will certainly give you the chance to recharge your batteries and write at times that you are feeling creative rather than trying to fit it in around everything. Why am I getting the vision of you sitting in a garret now?

Greenbee/Crickett - great idea, I sold my house to somebody who approached me and she still lives there and loves it as much as I ever did. I think the universe could be working on you both and helping things to colllide;)

  • Good morning Matrix - grey start to the day here.

Today's plan is to clean - after sanding (and cleaning) yesterday my kitchen and front room are covered in a fine white dust (which I knew they would be). Still I am a happy bunny as I have beautiful smooth wordwork ready for undercoating next week. I am so getting there with my house decorating.

FW I am so pleased for you getting your sabbatical - you sound over the moon. Well done on your presentation.

Hugs and positive vibes to Lara, Gemzie and anyone else in need. It's Friday peeps - boy has this week gone fast. Have a good day everyone.

Bitsy - tell your husband to play his favourite song on the way to the interview. I have a friend who always plays Simply the Best in the car on the way there. I once listened at full volume to Fantastic Day by Haircut 100 on my way to my third promotion interview (following the advice of the Simply the Best friend) and I got the promotion. Puts you in a good frame of mind. Hope he does well tomorrow.

Unfortunately not the best start to the morning. The bloomin' scooter that we just paid to be fixed and serviced won't start  so H had to take the car. I doubt he's been organised enough to sort out some positive music. He's fluctuated between being positive to being negative, feels unprepared etc. He can't "revise" or prepare notes with the kids being around (easily distracted, needs silence to work) so leaving everything til they are in bed hasn't left him with much time in the evening. I know he can do it, convincing him is another matter. He's a planner and he likes to do a lot of prep but he's so busy at work he's not had time to do much during the day so it's all ended up making him feel stressy and negative :(

Anyway any spare vibes for 2pm today would be most welcome. If he is successful today then there's a 2nd interview to get through......

Sorry that was a bit of a whinge :o

FW - Well done on getting your sabbatical :T

Crickett - I confess I've been having fantasy visions in my head if H gets this promotion :o Still I think it's good to envisage what you want to happen :D

Hugs for Lara and Gemmzie. Have great Friday's all, hope the sun is shining where you are because it isn't here :( Cold with white cloud. Roll on spring
