I have got far too overexcited and I have been looking at houses in between Salisbury and Cheltenham and Salisbury and Aldershot (the two places are where my hubby is likely to be able to get work). I thought house prices were gonig to make me squeal, but actually... so far, not too scary. Obviously, I am just looking and planning in case it happens. I have even started the pros and cons lists. I like to be prepared!

Pro's - New place for both of hubby and I to explore and learn about together; houses seem affordable-ish; it's a fantastic job for me; Potential prospects for hubby; charity experience for me, which will stand me in good stead for my business idea; Church involvement for me; building a network for my business in the future; its close to Mum. My house would be somewhere for my friends to come and stay for weekends. Hubby and I could make new friends.

Con's - We would have to have 2 cars and our daily commutes would be a little hair raising I think! It is away from hubby's parents, and we get on really well with them, we would need to sell our house PDQ; hubby would still be with the same company he is working for at the moment and that could be a mixed blessing as well; close to my Dad. I would be a long way from my godchildren and my close friends.

So far, the Pro's have it. But, it's close. Now, must stop getting over excited and knuckle down to some of my current day job! :D Thanks for all your positivity and good wishes! :D Here's hoping!

Cherison i know about bloat, symptoms and the need for speed but i had NO idea it could be brought on by anxiety:eek:.
    Thanks for the info. xx
There are still no definites about what causes bloat but there is a suggestion that anxiety could be a trigger. So I dont believe in taking any chances. The radio seemed to help last night. Before bedtime I moved his bed to the other side of the kitche (away from the storage heater) put on a night light and left the radio on low. I think that part of the problem has been that OH gave in to him a little and let him get his own way so he has been pushing his boundaries. OH now understands why I have quite strict boundaries and has promised to stick by them from now on. He is upset that he may have caused the problem but more so because he is concerned about Moo. Last night he did try having a whinge but instead of building himself up into a frenzy he gave up after half an hour. Got up this morning and he was ecstatic to see me. So hopefully that has broken the back of it. I do think the radio helped though. Thanks
I have just completed my job application (Letter and CV) in under an hour. Record time, and holy moley... even if I do say so myself, it looks pretty darn good!

Thanks so much for all your positive vibes. Good Luck Firewalker in both the presentation and the strategy.

TMIF, the job is Head of Finance and Administration at the Royal School of Church Music in Salisbury. A bit different from what I am doing now!
Crickett the job I have now was perfect for me. Meant that I moved countries, left my family and friends behind. On a good day I love it. I also completed my application for it in less than an hour and found out about my interview 2 days before and had to develop a 20 minute presentation with statistics and history of the area so there is nothing better to focus the mind than short timescales. Go for it.

Good luck tonight FW. I like the sound of the exercise to decide what you really want to do. I have my perfect day exercise that helps me to focus my mind on stuff.

Popping out of lurking mode to ask..do you mind me asking what your perfect day exercise is?

I got it from the Motivated Mind book by Raj Persaud. Basically you write down how you would love your perfect day to be. No holds barred just write it from the heart and be completely honest. Once you have done that you need to look at what you have written and think about how you can get that perfect day. 3 years ago I wrote the following

Wake up in the morning and look out over rolling hills and countryside. Have a nice healthy breakfast (preferably sitting on the patio) and take my time over it. Then spend the morning walking on the beach or in the countryside with my dogs (I had 2 then), come home read some interesting literature, maybe do a bit of writing and then meet people for lunch. In the afternoon I would like to see myself writing (anything just writing) I would like to spend part of my day talking to interesting people and learning new things. Evenings would be spent crafting/baking/reading/walking the dogs/going to the theatre and shared with my loved one.

12 months later I moved to Wales, my house is in a very rural village, my bedroom window looks out over the countryside and fields full of cows and sheep. I work from home and have to research certain things and then write about them as well as prepare presentations. I travel across Wales to meet people and deliver presentations and have business meetings. I now craft, bake, read and walk my dog to my hearts content. As I work from home I take Moo for a walk every morning in the forest or at the beach before starting work. I go to the beach regularly.
True my initial thought would be that I would be an author (a girl can still dream) but I love what I do mostly for now. I do intend to progress it.

The trick is to be open about what you write to analyse it and think creatively about what makes you happy. The book is a really good read. He gives an example of a man whose perfect day included being able to fly planes. That man is now a pilot and instructor!. It is all about focusing your mind and then finding ways to motivate yourself to get the best out of your life.

    Hope that helps

I love the sound of that Cheri - both the idea, and your perfect day. Might have a go at writing that down.

Just had an  moment - first OU assignment back - but fairly happy with the result, 75% for a first essay isn't bad I think :)
