Fantastic picture Fantasia. Great that you have now "got" the stealth mode setting.
Re the advice - thanks everyone. EH, great advice and I dont find it harsh at all. I have owned dogs all of my life and so all of what you said comes naturally to me. There are a couple of reasons why I havent adopted that approach in this case, Moo is a great dane, as such they are prone to bloat if they get overly anxious and this condition can escalate rapidly leading to death within a very short period of time (ie 4 hours). I have been ignoring him and not going to him and in the past when he was a pup this worked, he got fed up rather quickly and settled down. Lately he is not getting the message at all and he builds himself up into a frenzy of fearful crying. Also you are right we have neighbours (bit mad some of them) who have a very young baby so I have to be aware of them too. So all of this means that I need to check on him to ensure that he isnt bloating. You are so right that if it is just attention seeking then I am reinforcing it. I believe that even going to him to tell him off reinforces it as any attention is attention. I may reinstate his citronella collar which worked a treat when he developed a bark at 3am every morning as a pup and see if that helps. Thanks for your help in the matter sometimes I just need reminding.
Fantasia, that is a really good tip for leaving the radio on. I have the radio on constantly during the day for both Moo and Coco but had not thought about leaving it on through the night. I might give that a try tonight. Thanks.
Loving the positivity around here at the moment. Hugs to all that are sick, tired or just in need of a hug. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Morning Matrix. It is not a good one. Feel at the very edge of my patience at the moment and am on the verge of throwing my toys out of my pram and having a full out tantrum. I have a horrible temper and I try very hard to keep it under control, so I have not completely lost it in many years. Due to some extreme provocation that might change today. And I will not be in control of my actions. Any calming and positive vibes you could let me have would be greatly appreciated.

Crickett try punching a few cushions ! It really works. Hope you can resolve whatever it is and that you have a better day. xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Crickett, sending calming vibes to you. Hope your colleagues behave themselves today! I am a bit frustrated too, waiting for confirmation / letters / feedback from about 4 different people before I can move ahead any further. Feeling a bit stuck. I have so much to do, but can't get on with any of it!

OMG!!!! OMG!!!!!
Still feeling at the edge of my patience... but... I have just found a totally fabulous job for me to apply for. It is in a different part of the country, it is a step up from what I am doing at the moment and it would be a payrise. It is closer to my Mum and Dad (which is not necessarily a good thing!!) but... it feels right. I have asked hubby if he would be okay to move if I got the job and he said yes, go for it. WOW!!
Please can we ask the universe for this to come off? It would be so fantastic if I got this job!!Positive vibes to the Universe... this is the job for me....!!!!
I am still on the edge of my patience... but maybe just a little further away from the precipice than I was!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Classic photo Fantasia :rotfl: absolutely priceless.
Soothing vibes for anxious Moo - you don't think of laid back, gentle danes as being prone to anxiety so I hope you find a solution for him soon Cheri. How worrying having to check for bloat. Just musing - I wonder if a citronella collar would work for ds (only joking, sort of) - we live with ds in a constant state of anxiety. Even at his very best and most relaxed ds lives in a world where rituals rule his world - lots & lots of rituals - huge sigh....
Crickett - breathe - peace and calm in for 2; anger and frustration out for 4. You are an oasis of calm.
Day off from decorating yesterday - today the grotty woodwork is getting sanded down ready for glossing. I am hoping that I will not have to get the Nitromors out - evil stuff. I could do with some tips from Firewalker here on defying the aging process - after two four hour stints painting above my head on Mon & Tues I was beat. My poor old knees are still complaining :rotfl:.
Have a good day folks, Thriftyxxx
Eta - positive vibes and everything crossed for you Crickett. What a fab oh.0 -
Oooo Crickett.... what's the job
