Our cat doesn't even get upstairs at night - she has the dining room and kitchen as her 'bedroom' and an old duvet to sleep on. If it was up to me I'd probably let her in the bed, but Mr S had trained her to 'go to bed' in her own room before I met them :D Mind you, if she ever does get upstairs when someone's in bed she's a noisy scratchy little pest, so probably for the best.. and it is lovely when we go downstairs in the morning and she's all pleased to see us and cuddly :)

    And this one too :)

yes it is silly oclock and I find myself up with Moo again. It is starting to wear thin on me now. I have no clue why he has suddenly taken to waking and barking every night! The nightlight worked for all of 4 hours. There is absolutely nothing wrong with him other than wanting me to sit with him. I need to work out how to break the habit so if anybody has any ideas. Mind you he is 7 in August so maybe he is going a little senile!

have you tied a radio just playing softly in the background for reassurance. We had to do this with leyla, she was taking to barking and trying to climb into bed with us and think she just needed the reassurance. She still sneaks up onto the bed and balls up in the middle if she gets away with it and we dont even feel it (stealth mode lol??). Its worked that if the radio's on, she stays down and quiet, and if we forget the radio, she sneaks up and onto the bed.
Its no laughing matter waking up with a giant dogs head on the pillow lol.

My mum used to have to put the radio on for her dog, when they went out.

The plumbing is an on going job..... Having replaced the hot and cold water main gates at least we can now turn the water off if there is a problem. Waterboard going to sort out their bit.
The plumber then discovered that our tank in airing cupboard is leaking slightly, so that's also got to be replaced and I still DON'T HAVE A NEW KITCHEN TAP.

lLove the doggy stories, we had to have the radio on for our old dog when we were out as just before he died he had dementia and also attachment issues. The vet behaviour nurse suggested that and it worked.

I have a big smile on my face imagining a dog the size of Leyla climbing onto your bed, and you not feeling her! I bet you are both at either edge of the bed when she curls up between you!

Loving the idea of a Great Dane in stealth mode! We had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel a few years ago -when I moved out of home and in with MrEH she used to share her time between me and Mum and Dad - the first morning she stayed at ours we woke up in the morning to find, tucked cosily under the duvet between us, head on the pillow, and snoring gently, one Cavvy-doglet! :D She must have sneaked under the duvet at the bottom and wriggled her way up the bed! HRH The Cat does snuggle under the duvet sometimes as well, but her favourite position is stretching out along one or other of us on top of the duvet, or snuggled in behind my knees!

Now this is funny (or I think so). I captured this the other day.
Leyla has a cavernous snore depending which way she lies down lol,
but my OH snored louder. Leyla obviously wonders where the noise comes from lol

Love the picture Fantasia - my mind was very wicked and drifted off into wondering what if OH snored with open mouth and Leyla drooled - yeuch, bad Teapot
