Poor MG, hope your recovery is smooth :)

My blood is boiling today. My dad has taken over helping my brother with his accounts (bearing in mind - he's hideously bad at money himself). Well today, a credit card bill turns up.... with interest and a late payment charge!! This was a brilliant 0% deal until September but now he's lost that because the payment wasn't made.:mad:
And then everyone wonders why I do it all myself!

Our kitchen ceiling needs doing.........but it is 4.5 metres by 9 metres so has never received a 2nd coat. after 10 years it really really needs doing :o
You have given me the kick I need. When I'm home next week I'll darn well do it.......

(can you pass on any "bite-sized chunks" advice?)

Mission completed :j - first coat of white done. Our kitchen is about half the size of yours OO but it was last painted 8 years ago so was a wee bit grimy . It still took 4 hours though - jeesh. Bite-sized chinks were - tea-break after 1st hour; lunch after 2 hours and another tea-break after 3 - just bribe me with food :rotfl:.

Second coat will be done tomorrow.

Just need the energy to cook tea now.

    (((Hugs))) Gemmzie.

Sorry to hear you had to have your appendix removed for bad behaviour MG, but take care of yourself and be a good patient for your mum and the nice doctors and nurses. ;) x

    Hi all,

just popping in to wish you Happy Baba Marta (Grandma March) - this is an old (pagan possibly) custom in Bulgaria. The celebration is for joy and plenty so very appropriate; we also exchange red and white tread but this is a bit hard - white does not work on this background. As for the red

    Positive Vibe request please!

Our HA maintenance people have a reputation for causing chaos, you call them for a small job which turns into a big one and all sorts of problems you didn't know you had:eek:

I had them out yesterday as my kitchen tap needed replacing and BIL couldn't do it as he'd discovered there were problems - all seemed straight forward. Yesterday they discover that the hot water gate doesn't work:eek:no problem he says I'll turn the main stop !!!! off......... It doesn't work either nor does the one to the house........ Result they are coming today to re-plumb my entire house:eek::eek::eek::eek:I only wanted my tap replacing.

It's amazing how fast you can blitz the house when your up against it and know that you'll have at the very least no water.

  • Arrrgghhh RobsMum - positive vibes flying your way. At least the work is getting done, maybe there will be a couple of fit young plumbers to lessen the pain:D.

Chestita Baba Marta Firewalker. It is a glorious 1st March here, just need the temp to rise a little and Spring will well and truly be here.

Well second coat of kitchen ceiling is 2/3rds done - had to stop for a cup of tea and extra slice of toast because I was ravenous. I think I'm a lost cause for losing weight - I do some exercise and my appetite kicks in and I don't do going hungry - ah well.

Okay a few more mins sit down then back to it. Hope everyone is well, Thriftyxxx

    Happy Sy David's day too!

Well done on the ceiling painting; I'm also supposed to be doing a ceiling in the bedroom - have successfully procrastinated over that for at least a month already.
