Just been on the phone to the solicitor, OMG buying property is so complicated!
The wheels of conveyancing turn veeeeeeeeeeery slow.
Cheri - that sounds fantastic. Hmmmmm I just need to convince my H of the powers of the mind and the Universe

How stressed must that woman have been? I feel quite sorry for her kids having witnessed that but I can only assume that she is not a well woman if she reacted in that way. I hope that they find her if only to get her some help.
Squizz - well done what a fabulous score for a first essay. Go SQUIZZ
Bitsy - tell your husband to play his favourite song on the way to the interview. I have a friend who always plays Simply the Best in the car on the way there. I once listened at full volume to Fantastic Day by Haircut 100 on my way to my third promotion interview (following the advice of the Simply the Best friend) and I got the promotion. Puts you in a good frame of mind. Hope he does well tomorrow.

What stage are you at Gem? Some bits move quicker than others, and some can be hurried, whereas others just have to go through at their pace! There are still no definites about what causes bloat but there is a suggestion that anxiety could be a trigger. So I dont believe in taking any chances. The radio seemed to help last night. Before bedtime I moved his bed to the other side of the kitche (away from the storage heater) put on a night light and left the radio on low. I think that part of the problem has been that OH gave in to him a little and let him get his own way so he has been pushing his boundaries. OH now understands why I have quite strict boundaries and has promised to stick by them from now on. He is upset that he may have caused the problem but more so because he is concerned about Moo. Last night he did try having a whinge but instead of building himself up into a frenzy he gave up after half an hour. Got up this morning and he was ecstatic to see me. So hopefully that has broken the back of it. I do think the radio helped though. Thanks
Crickett the job I have now was perfect for me. Meant that I moved countries, left my family and friends behind. On a good day I love it. I also completed my application for it in less than an hour and found out about my interview 2 days before and had to develop a 20 minute presentation with statistics and history of the area so there is nothing better to focus the mind than short timescales. Go for it.
Good luck tonight FW. I like the sound of the exercise to decide what you really want to do. I have my perfect day exercise that helps me to focus my mind on stuff.
Glad to hear that you seem to be making some headway with Moo Cheri - scary stuff about the bloating thing, certainly not something you can take chances with.
Crickett I agree totally with those who feel that the job will be yours if it is right for you, so fingers tightly crossed and positive thoughts flowing!

Good evening, people of the Matrix,
presentation went OK - all pictures and no words (except the ones I uttered). Firts for me - usually I think in words and images do not come easy. But getting better at this. Also people here really, really want me and think that I am great (before the presentation).
Another piece of news - I got the sabbatical I applied for. So beginning on July 1st, I am on sabbatical for a year. Isn't this great? I am going to write these books after all - and will do all possible to get funded fellowships so that going back will be on my terms. People who have other options have loads of power.
Altogether very pleasing developments.
As to the exercise - I am reading 'The 4-hour woking week' and there are some dream lines there. But the principle is that you are honest and put there only things that you really want to achieve, do, experience. And it is relatively short term - long term goals can become destructions never to be attended. Will keep you posted how this one goes.
Well done Squizz. As to Sporty Spice - fine, I am game. We need others, though.

Excellent news FW! Well done you! :T :T How wonderful to have a sabbatical, and well done on the presentation! :T
And well done Squizz too! 75% is marvellous for any essay! :j0 -
Bit of a pants day today
My supervisor has still not got back to me about my essay, and it's got to be handed in on Saturday. So if it's not up to standard, I'll have only 1 day to change it. Fingers crossed it's okay...
Also in unrelated matters the two DJs we booked for our wedding have cancelled. Running out of options fast, eek. There are plenty of people we like, but not too many we are able to afford.
And as usual OH has taken on waaaay too much work. He's working right up until the weekend I leave for Uganda, a month tomorrow. He's irritable, stressed, and grumpy with tiredness and overwork. I am resentful, as I didn't want him to take one of the jobs so he could have a bit more work-life balance, but he took it anyway. sorry to be a big negative vibe merchant.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
