Since my big project is completed, I have been unable to muster the motivation to do anything. My excuse is that i think I might be coming down with something (and I have a headache) but the fact of the matter is, I still have a big to do list, and the jobs on the list are equally important as the big and fascinating project I have just been doing. I really want to go home and curl up with the cats and the remote control, but I have meeting at 4-5 and I really need to go to it. Any quick ideas of what to do to get my motivation moving?!
Thrifty,
Good Luck with finding something for DS to do. Will send positive vibes your direction.
Have you got some little things on your list that you can get done and dusted by 4pm? See the next couple of hours as a 'tidy up' session to do all those bits and pieces? By the way, I love your new photo on here - you look fantastic
Good luck Thrifty, I really hope they work hard to find him something.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
*update to say I have contacted Daneline via the website.
Just playing the waiting game now
*Update to say, blimey, that was quick, Dane line have phoned me already. OMG OMG OMG< homechecker in Fife will phone me this evening to arrange a homecheck.
But because I have an 11 year old uncastrated dog, I may have to wait till a suitable adoptee comes in.
Edit to say, sorry am rambling like an over-excited child,
there are things going on like K4K which are way more important. Sorry again0 -

Unfortunately, I have done all of those jobs already!!
Thanks for the compliment... that was about 3 years, 3 stone and a very flattering camera angle ago! I need to get back to that. Somehow."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
UPDATE ON KITS FOR KIDS: (Found on Facebook)
Goods held up with Customs (grrr) - so they're almost here
They want R2,000 (around £200) but KitAid etc rescued us with details of a clause that said we don't have to pay import duty........however will we have to pay a fee for them to check that all the goods are 2nd hand......0 -
OO emailed me this morning too Said they are out of pocket at the moment paying for the shipping I have £70 still from the kits for kids earrings so will transfere that tomorrow when I go to the bank.
What else do you think we could do to raise some money to help??Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Fantasia WOW!!!!! The home checker may well bring their own dane with them to visit. Why not give daneline a call and ask if that is possible so that your OH can see what they are like. Max doesnt take up much room at all. Just the same as my GSD really. He has stealth mode too, he creeps into places that he knows he isnt allowed, (like under my desk this morning). Some dogs will get on fine with uncastrated dogs. I get quite fed up hearing about castration being important. I have now had 3 dogs, only GSD castrated due to health issues and that was unavoidable. I have never had a dog with any agression so not sure the argument to castrate to keep them calm is that scientific myself. They may not write you off because of yours not being castrated but if they do there are other options open to you.
Was going to offer you Max for a week to see how your hubby copes!
I was wondering about K4K. Need to get out fundraising thinking caps on I think. Poor OO being that much out of pocket. I will have a think about fundraising but that would probably have to be discussed on the other side I would imagine and then maybe have a mailing list for anyone on here who doesnt want to go to the bright side and keep them updated that way.
On my lunch hour and should go back now. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

I know Cheri, I can't believe it either. Apparently there is a glut of unspeyed b1tches that need homes and no-one is coming forward.
I think the castration thing is being made so paramount because of the risk of unsolicited breeding.
Lis (from Daneline) did mention other 'possibilities' such as speyed female, or speyed male,
She was also very big on the fact that I wanted to rescue and not go to a breeder for a puppy, and asked about fences, height blah blah.
She also said that they are having problems with people gifting their dogs to the rescue and not giving accurate information about the dogs.
I have no qualms about dane size, and OH is more concerned about keeping a large animal under control. Pack-leader skills and all that goes with it.......!!!!!!!
Oh, and because I'm north of the border, would I be prepared to travel.......?????????????
You betcha.........?????????
I did say that I am more than prepared to wait for the RIGHT dog.0 -

How about you are exhausted and need to take a breath? Another possibility is that deep down you feel entitled to rest - in Western cultures we have the belief that we are entitled to rest (read different about Chinese rice growing culture). In any case, if you find something that you really see as a challenge I am sure you will jump.
Does this count as a kick? May be not...

Well FW, actually it helps a lot. I am easing myself into my next big project, which I am sure is just around the corner. Plus, my headache is getting worse, not better, so I think my body is telling to chill a little!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440

Sorry Crickett I meant to reply in my last post and FW just said exactly what I was going to say. you went all guns blazing at the last project so you deserve a breather. If you have a meeting 4-5 and you feel "guilty" about not being busy, why not spend this afternoon preparing for the meeting. Look at the agenda, have a cup of tea, make notes on the agenda, have a cup of tea, get together the paperwork for the meeting and put it into order of the agenda in a folder and tagged with headings (oh dear my Monica side is coming out now) and have a cup of tea. By then it is meeting time and then home time YAY!!
Tomorrow is a new day and you can start your day (or end today) by reviewing your to do list and prioritising it into big job, little job, big job.
