MG: At least you have some time to plan everything properly
Claire:What a !!!!!!... still time'll fly by and he'll be better before you know it
Everyone - stick your head out of the window and blow away the snowy clouds... of course, we have rain here, and it's rained since Thursday morning... yay!0 -
Claire, what a start to the year. I like your take on it though - he will see things from your point of view more now. And I thinkit was Churchill who said 'When you're going through hell - keep going'
MG, glad the school is still a partly going concern, hope it can be built up again into something great!0 -
Sorry to hear all the tales of woe. Life seems to throw all the challenges it can in one whammy sometimes. Hugs to everyone having a hard time just now. At least MG's school situation sounds as though it may have sorted itself to an extent. Claire - I guess it's time that will heal your DH's arm - but the waiting is an anxious time.
We have been having our own probs here. Some of you may recall DH broke his leg in France in the middle of December. After we got back we arranged an appointment to see a consultant here just before Christmas. The appointment was cancelled as a result of the weather and we finally managed to rearrange for last week. Unfortunately the bones had twisted since the surgery in France to pin them. He therefore had to have the bones realigned and put in a cast under GA. This necessitated an overnight stay in the hospital and I fetched him home on Thursday. He is now out of pain but is still not able to do anything much.
In the meantime I have developed a bulging disc in my spine so I have been (literally at times) crawling around trying to get everything done around the house. Disappointing as the laminectomy I had seemed to have eliminate the pain I'd had. I have also had a horrid throat bug that has left me exhausted and depressed. So life hasn't been a bundle of fun.
Hopefully things will improve over the next few weeks. Our daughter's caesarian is booked for Wednesday morning so we've something positive to focus on.
Sorry this has been such a tale of woe. Shall try to be more upbeat next time

You REALLY should not be blushing, thanks was well deserved as you came up with great practical things quickly which is great in a crisis.lol I laughed at that, but nope we are both rightiesnot a good pair between us.
On a brighter note, will work as an advantage for me cause now he will know how hard it is to do stuff with only one arm, and he may stop moaning so much when I ask for help in future
Glad it made you laugh, I was worried about posting it and sooooo nearly deleted it.ClootiesMum wrote: »:rotfl::rotfl:Ah - there's always a silver lining :rotfl::rotfl:

The Teacher, a kindi teacher and some of the parents are setting up a base for the kids in local Uni Town. So school ( a pared down version is back on for the forseeable) Mornings only - but both boys so that's a bonus.
So at least I have breathing space to sort out provision for DS1 from summer (i hope)
In the meantime I shall be out of the house until 1.45 every day - so need to get a wiggle on and figure out where it is safe and warm to work with my laptop from 9am - 1pm.

This sounds like great news MG! Although not so good when you need to find somewhere warm and safe to work externally. Starbucks, Costa McDonalds to free internet I think.... Sorry to hear you & DH are having mobility issues
Will have fingers crossed for your DD on Wednesday though, a new little one will lift everyones spirits :j:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
What is happening? All these mis-adventures cannot be anything more than a blip on an otherwise wonderful year. Good opportunity for power thinking: stuff like this happens and it will always do. The important thing is what do we learn?
From yesterday I learned two things: 1) in our busy schedules we have always to allow time for unexpected stuff (like son having an op; husband breaking a wrist etc.); and 2) we always have to allow time and space for our loved ones.

MG - glad you are feeling a bit better about the school. The answers will come to you in good time.
FW - so pleased to hear that little boy didnt have appendicitis. Hope that he gets well soon and loving the idea of teaching him capitalism to reject it.
Clare - oh dear, you did make me laugh (sorry not at you but with you) the way you said about you both only having one good arm now. Hope he has broken the opposite arm - at least then you can work things between you- seriously though, it could have been worse but I hope that things aren't too rough for you. Welcome back by the way.

Oh Sue, you do sound as though you have been through the wars recently. You are doing so well to struggle on with such pain and having to help husband as well, cannot be easy.
One thing I can recommend for the throat is Manuka Honey - I bought my daughter a jar for Christmas (not cheap!) as she suffers with her throat. Whenever she wakes in pain, she takes a teaspoon of honey and the pain goes away. Sadly she doesn't like the taste of it, so won't take it regularly, but I have told her she has got to use up the whole jar because it was so expensive!!
Just a thought that you might be able to try it. Best Wishes for the new arrival too!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
