OMG MG, the news about the school must be serious headwreck........!!
    Am gutted for you.
How can these people stick around when there was a 'vote of no confidence' though?
Do they actually own the rights to the school, or the building or something. I just don't get it, especially after all the struggle and work you put in for them etc.?
Home-ed sounds like the way forward for the time being.
Unless you want to move countries.
You're pretty well-versed in the Montessori philosophy and curriculum.
Put it on hold for tonight though and relax and enjoy your wine.
I have a glass (or 3) of Pinot Blush.
Its snowing again (majorly) in my corner of Fife, have soooooooooooooo had enough of the white stuff for the season.

Edit to say, just read your newest post.
I think Mr B knows you are capable of turning it into a reality, even if it is 'insanely do-able'.

WIll be hemmed in again next week if I cant get to work, and going stir-crazy grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Good grief MG! How very annoying of those directors  However, you will rise to the challenge I'm sure, and there's plenty of resources out there to help you.

And, after all, DS wanted to fund his education didn't he? Perhaps he could start on the road to that by researching options for you :D (kind of joking, of course, but I'm sure it'll be a fabulous experience for him to explore all the different options open to you both - I know some homeschooled kids prefer a curriculum, while others prefer the more exploratory open approach? Don't know much about it other than reading cheery blogs though, and don't have my own children!)

Good luck anyway - and for tonight, a little more wine :D

(((firewalker and family)))))) love to you all too xx

Well, they are back and playing monopoly (Little Boy has to learn the principles of mad capitalism is he is to reject them). We have to observe him and if he starts throwing up or running temps or both take him in. My intuition is telling me that it is not apendicitus but we shall see.

MG, home schooling sounds like a good idea but is it a full time job? How are the logistics going to work out? Questions for later - now rest, sleep on it and the answser will manifest. Interesting question is what is the Universe telling you? May be that you should work with children? Who knows...The future is shrouded in mystery...

    Deep breaths...

The Directors have taken the decision not to return from India and open the school - nothing like a bit of notice - eh??:D
How many other children are affected... and staff? I guess you all need to get together to look at the options. I've got a magazine here with an article on starting your own home ed group if you're interested...

FW - pleased to hear your littley is home safe and sound. Fingers crossed he stays that way.
  • OMG MG if it isn't one thing it's another (or two others). It will be for the best though, at least no more dealings with HTH.

Glad to see you back Claire!

FW pleased things seem OK and hope they continue to improve.

Flipping nora MG, that's outrageous!! How cruel of the head and her vile OH to do that to the families who are depending on them, especially you and DS1 who have dedicated so much time, energy and love to the school. I thought you and some other parents had plans afoot to take over the school, is there any way you could "home-educate" as a group in the existing building and try and find trained teachers to take over and restart the school properly?

Its the Directors that took over from the original HT and HTH that have taken the decision. Although I believe they are all at the same Ashram.

THREE GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE SITUATION

    1. On the bright side - now I will no longer be paying fees for DS1's school I will have pennies to spend on them both. DS2 starting a very nice playgroup on Monday,

    2. I won't have the running costs of a car to also consider.

    3. Now I am really not tied to the area - if I got a great offer of a fantastic opportunity I could move town, country or even continent.

DS1 is actually pretty OK about the whole situation - and would be quite happy about working from home as long as he can still have his music stuff, Scouts, "writing group" cooking and gardening too. He is pretty advanced in lots of ways, and in others not quite so.

For instance I realised over Christmas that the reason he was struggling with some divisions was that his times tables were not rock solid. A bit of practice and he flew through 1000 long and short divisions in no time.

There are a few wee bits like this to sort before progressing onto anything more complex - so I hope if I come hollering for help you guys will put your thinking caps on.

Thanks for all the linkies BTW - I am off to investigate them further.

Been thinking about FW comments overnight - maybe I am being pulled to work more with kids (actually some very wise person on here told me that about 10 months ago).

The brlliant thing is that all the stuff I have been developing over Xmas would be perfect tweaked into a "here's how YOU can teach your children to do this" pile of stuff.

DS1 may end being the guinea pig for a trial programme.:D

So one bottle of wine later I am much calmer, thanks guys. Even better, because I was so "wound up" I pulled out some knitting needles and rustled up a very cool "designer knock-off" hot water bottle cover (we have one each to save putting on the heating). I will go and sew it up this morning and post you a picture......

........... may have to ask Claire to talk me through how.

BTW Claire - lovely to have you back hon. I am so glad I could help. There's nothing worse than being frustrated by something technical that can be easily solved with a penny or two. Now go and sell LOADS in your January sale :T

Sunday morning - so loads on my 15 minute lists ( including creating a nice environment for DS1 and I to work in).

Clawing back to being a positive bunny again

You seem so much calmer about the situation with the school this morning MG, I wonder if the other parents are and what their plans are with this short notice. And of course the teachers.

On a different subject, will you still be running the courses scheduled on your website? I know a couple of people that may want to book them.

And how is your Mum doing now she is home?
