    Hi there,

I am back and have been catching up. All is well in Firewalkers fortress - my four men did Ok without me; the house is still standing and rather tidy and clean. It is nice to see everybody.

I am planning what to do over the Christmas holiday - I wish I knew how to keep still and pieceful but regretfully fidgeting and moving is a habit of a life time and it is a bit late to try and change it now.

Oh, and I have been thinking that I used to think that on the stock market they call the really big players 'sharks' because they are vicious; but this is wrong - they are sharks because they always move.

I have been thinking about this whole Christmas thing. I am not religious so I don't understand why I am being roped into celebrating it and to the present buying frenzy just because everybody else does it.

I am going to declare myself a pagan next year and start my own ritual and do just the minimum fuss for DD. Might not go down well with BF who is very religious but we shall jump over that fence as and when.

If I'm correct Christmas is actually when it is due to Yule, the Pagan Christmas festival, so I would consider not going Pagan if you don't want to celebrate at all, else you will get lots of 'Happy Yule' cards and have to eat many logs! ;)

That is exactly what I was thinking. To turn it into a celebration of the darkest time of the year and let everyone else celebrate christmas. Do it the way that I am comfortable with instead feeling that I am out of control and forced into a timeline and behaviour that doesn't work for me.

Sorry to be a bit of a Miss Controversy here :o

  • Glad you made it back safely, Firewalker.

I'm leaving for my aunt's in the morning and have a bit of tidying and packing to do - so all the best to everyone for peace, tolerance, kindness, love, warmth and contentment this Christmas, and for the year to come.

Firewalker, just seconding what GQ is saying, glad you made it back, and that you haven't come back to chaos, this is all difficult enough as it is.... I hope it will all be bearable for you.

    hi all

Not been about much due to various illnesses - both kids, son got impetigo, mother here which limited internet time, I've got the back end of flu and a perforated eardrum, now just accepting I'm not ready for Christmas and that's it, nothing I can do about it!!

Hope all are well - off to have a nose and a catch up on the board.
