    Morning all,

it is cold and crispy here and the snow is properly ice. Running is a problem and will have to be done in the gym, on a treadmill rather than outside in the brightness of the day and beauty of the snow.

I did have a text from MG last night - they are fine and she has visitors. So no worries - she will no doubt update all when she has a minute (or 15).

I have been trying to rap up for Christmas and the break but some things will have to be left unfinished (well if all is finished what is there to look forward to). Tomorrow morning I am off to Sofia to see my Dad and to try to hel my sister a bit - will be back on Thursday hopefully if something does not go wrong. This is something I could have done without but this kind of thing does not ask.

Today we have two parties to go to - at least we are popular despite of not getting around to send any Christmas cards yet again.

  • I know there was snow in most places yesterday but we did'nt get any. Still have the remnants of the last lot, but, oh boy, we have a mega blizzard this morning, have cleared the path once and its 5 inches deep again lol. At least this time I'm on holiday from work so no worries about not making it. I am sooooooooooooooo sick of this snow though, its just endless. Be as well flitting to the North Pole at this rate. Stay safe and warm girls and dont travel unless you absolutely have to x

Mr F has always been very thoughtful with presents - and so are all three sons. They all buy jewellery for me or other really nice things. Most nice things I have are presents from one or other of them.

But this year, in my new found MSE guise, I have told everyone that there should not be presents except the family one. And all of them being around is the best present ever.

PS: It is freezing in my study even with the heating on - so may be termal undies would have been a good idea after all. Diamonds may be girl's best friend but when it comes to keeping warm nothing beats a good set of termals.

Bit of a blizzard here in Glasgow, so glad I'm home from my friends. Had a lovely night with her and her family though. Candles lit and EP on Radio 2 so all snug here X

I decided to venture out and about 5 minutes into my journey the snow came down again...and the sky still looks full of it :(

  • Just having a wee chuckle to myself. Last January I bought a beautiful Nativity set in the sales for a rock bottom price: Mary, Joseph, 3 Wise Men, a camel, 2 sheep, one shepherd and Baby Jesus in a manger.

Quick double take as I was arranging them: Mary has a babe in arms too! Twins!!

Thing is, the shepherd and the Wise Men are definitely modelled to be looking down at the babe in the crib, not up at the babe in arms. So both babes are staying, quite appropriate as I'm a twin too! Not theologically correct, but I'm sure my twin brother will appreciate the symbolism when I tell him.

It's snowing again here. The car is already covered and I hope it doesn't build up too much. In practical terms it's a pest but it does look beautiful outside.

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

FW - Decathlon do very economically priced thermals for the whole family (I have a top with merino wool in it ready in the bag that OH will be wrapping for me ;)). For example: long johns £6.99, tops £5.99, silk gloves and knee socks (roughly £5 and £10 respectively). They also have an offer on where you can buy 3 fleeces of any size for £18.

Why don't you send one of the Christmas e-cards instead of the physical things, they are much easier and greener and less faff ;)

Or PM your email address and I can forward you one that a friend got from her daughter in the US.
