Bloomin typical. I am out of the country. They didnt show any of the others on i player (I dont own a tv) and when they do they only have it on for a few days. Waited all these months for it as well. (wheres the stampy foot smiley while I have a tantrum)

MG. Bet that you will feel lovely coming home now with the hall all nice and bright.

  • I think someone (maybe Maty?) said she would copy it onto a DVD.... maybe you could... erm... well you know ;)

Today is supposed to be my day off but is going to be a buzy one! I have to go and prepare the old ladies house for the funeral/wake tommorow.
I did the flowers for the house last night and they look beautiful - pale lemon rosebuds, lisianthus, mauve freesia and white chrysanths and baby's breath.
I starched my table cloths:eek: and just got to collect eberything up to take round there.
Can't you tell I love doing events.

After that I have to go across the road and sort BIL's house out and do some things in mine:eek:
Have a good day, will catch up later.

Aint that the truth!!!! My Mums house got done over by "Colin and Justin" in series 1 of "how not to decorate". It was gorgeous, but it felt slightly odd moving back in and nothing held memories for you IYSWIM.

I look around my house now and every piece has a story to it - how it was found through Freecycle, renovated from our furniture place, gifted by friends, made by my own "Make Do and Mend" attitude. I came out of my bedroom this morning and the new flooring caught me by suprise - a lovely suprise. Has put a shine on the whole day :)

So todays "Secret Santa" is something really indulgent and yummy that will ring loads of memories back for all you Scots lassies - this is a family favourite - and I will be making about 5 batches between now and Christmas to bag up for all the "blokes" that are in our circle. Scots Tablet!!!!!

Why???? - because I've had abut 8 messages looking for the recipe again:rotfl:

First thing is put on your answering machine and post a note onthe door saying you are unavailable for 20 minutes. Then go to the bathroom becasue you really can't afford to leave the pot once this is on the go.

    SCOTS TABLET

    1/4 lb Stork margarine
    1 teacup of full-fat milk
    1 bag of sugar
1 tin Carnation light (Condensed milk - used to be called Fussels)

Grease a standard swiss roll tray with marg and set aside on a tea-towel (the base of this will be hot)

Use a large heavy pot ( use the base of my pressure cooker)

On a medium heat melt the milk and marg together without boiling.

Add the bag of sugar and stir whilst bringing to the boil.

Add teh tin of milk and bring to the boil again, stirring constantly cook for a good twenty minutes until it is a rich toffee colour.

Remove from the heat and beat briskly for 3 minutes with a wooden spoon.

Pour into your prepared tray and when setting on top mark into pieces or bars with a knife. When the tablet is cold you will be able to snap the pieces apart.

Sampling a few as you go of course :rotfl::rotfl:

I will be bagging these up in a bag made from brown paper and attaching a brown luggage label with gold writing with some old fashioned string.
