Aww i wish I had the knack of teaching people anything, crochet is one crafty thing I am good at, taught my self and its sooooooo easy. its like knitting with 1 needle. Trying to think of the basics here.
You need, obviously wool, a hook and a slip knot.
The 1st basic stitch and the basis of all crochet is the chain stitch.
You just wrap the wool over the hook, catch it in the hook and pull it through the slip not and then continue wrapping over hook and linking through. Et voila a chain,.
A little bit of practice and you can have feet of chain in minutes, the rest is just linking into the chain stitch to create more stitches.

But i find it hard to describe that to make it easy (which it defo is).

Hi everyone. Sorry I have not posted but am still following the thread. Just starting to get my xmas head on. I feel s if Ive been in a bubble the past ew weeks. Love to you all.
Hi Boddy, good to hear you are still keeping track. How are you doing? Not surprised you have felt in a bubble, its been an emotional time. How are you feeling about Christmas - its always difficult losing someone so close to a big festival, everything just carries on like nothing has happened. Take care of yourself x0 -

Nice to see you posting Boddy, hope you're holding up as well as you can xx
Well despite all your good wishes today was a bit of a disaster. I made approx £18 of that I had to pay £8 for the tableIt was one of the quietest table top sales they've ever had. Previous ones have been heaving. Only positive thing was lots of people said how nice my stuff was (but didn't buy) and I don't think anyone there was selling much at all. I think I'd feel even more despondant if it had just been me struggling.
Still learned that next year I shan't bother doing the decorated mints and perhaps will make some A5 sized cards (although still not sure they'd sell).
Anyway its out the of way and I shall be eating and drinking my way through the remainder of my edible stock

Claire, Bitsy, sorry you have had such disappointing weekendsSuch a shame after all your hard work. Not that it is a consolation but at least people are just not buying rather than not buying your stuff IYSWIM.

Sorry you had such a pants weekend guys ................ maybe everybody else is finding it hard to get in the Christmas spirit too.
All the flooring is down - apart from the bit under my stairs which is still stuffed with Dad Junk (so he's here on Tuesday to clear it then help me finish. Can't believe how beautiful and bright it makes my hallway.
Decided not to paint whilst DS2 is around - but I have the eggshell in sparkling white and a new brush ready to go at half-seven when he is asleep. Mixed a beautiful duck-egg blue to paint the hallway later too (some other evening) but now I've come over all creative and want to cut a stencil to add some gold accents. Will put that off for the new year I think:D
So whilst I was looking for the blue paint I found the pink I'd used in the kitchen. (My kitchen is painted a Liquorice allsorts pink) so I've touched up all the scruffy bits, cleaned the cupboard fronts and have almost finished making some pink patchwork seat covers from my dining chairs. I think I might rustle up a cafe curtain for the window if theres time.
............... I may be in danger of falling in love with my home again:rotfl:
Better get a wiggle on to get everything cleared away and reay for a quick lick of paint before settling down to some telly and crochet ............ well it is Sunday after all!!!

MG ace to see you back. We've missed you!
Boddy, big hugs to you.
Sorry to hear that the craft sales didn't go well, just so difficult to gauge isn't it.
VERY hungover tonight as last night was my work do. Got a mate coming over for X Factor so need to have a wash and tidy up a bit! Cheap night tho and good food and company. Now off work for 10 days so off to Mum and Dad's tomorrow to catch up and take all the pressies down then got a meeting/meal out in Leeds on Wed and back up Thursday for a comedy thing at a club up here. Got a few plans for next weekend too. X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Fab stuff MG, well done! :T
We've had, er, three guests at our party, and they've all now left :rotfl: So in the spirit of positive thinking, I'm now thinking 'hooray, I've got time to fit in some things I wouldn't otherwise have done!', so I'm cracking on with sewing my curtain liningsMr Daffs has gone to bed, and I'm trying desperately not to eat the rest of the biscuits and cake
