Susan, what a shock to come home to. Is it possible for anybody else to travel with your son to collect your H. Will he be able to travel in the car? Whatever the arrangements I hope he is back home with you soon.

  • Oh Sue, how awful. Could your son go alone, i'm sure you have thought of this already though. Hope that hubby is ok - as he can be in the circumstances.
Sending lots of get well vibes to him and you!
  • Sue, I'm so sorry to read that your husband has had an unlucky break. I hope the rescue mission goes as smoothly as it possibly can for you all.

Take care, we will be thinking of you.

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

You are all so kind -you've quite made me well up!!

I really should go if I can because I know my way around, know more about the system (we've had dealings with French hospitals before - don't ask!!), know people out there and have a better command of French than our son.

I'll speak to the GP's surgery tomorrow and see whether I would be advised to fly and that will give me more of an idea of the options. Which ever way we go it's going to cost and I don't really want to spend more than we have to........however sometimes needs must.

It's going to have to be a flying visit - out one day, back the next and no stocking up on quantities of beer, wine and champagne (new grandchild due in January).

However, until he has had the surgery and we know when he can come home, we can't make any plans.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks everyone so much for your support.

    Sue
  • Alison - great news about oh's job. Beautiful pictures.

Susan - sorry to hear your news, sending positive vibes to get oh home as safely as possible for both him and you.
  • Hugs to Susan and anyone else who needs them...

I too feel the Universe is playing games but I'm glad that some people are having much success than moi - well done Alison on your OH's job.

Right time for a hot chocolate and an early night I think...

Oh susan, good grief! So sorry to hear about your husband :( Does travel insurance cover his trip home? Would he not be able to travel alone considering you're not meant to? Fingers crossed and positive vibes for you xx

Alison - fingers crossed for you too on your husband's job! :T Sounds great :T

Lots of lovely baking going on in here this afternoon :j :j

Slightly bored of slipping and sliding around now :( BUT - having been to work for the past 2 days (involving a long walk, a train and a bus each day - so plenty of room for delays!), I now don't *have* to be anywhere until I go to London next Wednesday :D Lots to do, but it's all local :D So looking forward to settling in a little :T
