Cat brought in another live mouse, a bit of a stramash ensued, mousie ended up in the bathroom where I chased it into a square plastic bin. Covered it with a magazine to stop it jumping out, and took it outside. All within 10 minutes. (Practice makes perfect)

Mousie brushed my hand as I tipped it out over the fence :eek:, I jumped skyhigh and dropped everything, so now the bin is lying just out of reach on far side of the fence, in deep snow. The neighbour's back garden meets my side fence, so I'll wait till the snow melts down a bit before I go and ask if I can retrieve my wee bin!

Cat is shut in once again....:rotfl::rotfl:

This is what I am dreading once my kitten is old enough to be let loose :eek:

Greyfox - here's hoping you get your part asap xx

  • Both my cats catch at least one thing each day... they normally deposit them under my dining room table or in the bath...

This year's exhibits include several slow worms - some complete, some not, a gazillion mice, a baby rabbit (I think), a pet hamster (I don't know why it wasn't in a cage or ball either!), a rat, lots of little vole type things, and a lot of birds (some dead, some not) - I would not be at all surprised if my little killers were solely responsible for the reduction in the sparrow population in the UK!!!! We've had 3 mice today so far :( 2 dead, 1 a little bit alive

  • DH has just come home and told me that he may have the offer of another job in the new year. Same hours as now, same job, no Saturdays and 10k a year more pay!

Is this too good to be true or is the Universe giving us a helping hand?

Lots of good luck and new job vibes appreciated between now and the new year ladies!

Hope all are well in the snow, we still have none, but have had such a heavy frost it looks like snow, here is a photo i took today (link)

Had to come home after an hour and a hlaf outside though as i could feel the cold getting in me and seizing my joints and back up!

Great picture Ali, you need to get over the the DFW photo challenge here and join in the fun. Now why would something like that offer be too good to be true. Perhaps you need to think Thank you Universe my OH is really worth this. Positive vibes all the way.

    Hello Matrix

Well I managed to get to & from work yesterday & today - bit slower than normal but managed OK with no skids - have even been & bought more Christmas cards & did a weee shop yesterday
Sitting at -8 at the moment & have had to give in & put the heating on 24/7 just now - this was decided once we found the windows on the inside of the conserv iced over (reminds me of my childhood)
So off to have a quick look at the other site & then it's Christmas card
night - means that DH can go & post them all tomorrow:D
Everyone - take care out there, wrap up warmly & have a backpack in your car with spare gloves/socks/underwear (in case you have to spend the night somewhere) A HI VISIBILITY VEST OR SOMETHING BRIGHT LIKE THIS/shovel/towel/charged mobile phone/torch & chocolate
Sounds extreme but you do feel better once this is in your car & then it can sit there all winter - with only occasional restocking of the chocolate :)

Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!! I've obviously upset the universe big time!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely WI Christmas tea; hilarious speaker; a lovely time with all my friends...........and then I came home. There were various answerphone messages.

Yesterday hubby went to France to check all is well with the house,
harvest the carrots, plant the garlic and take Christmas crackers for our French neighbours. It seems that around lunchtime he went to take some bits up to the compost heap, slipped on some mud and has badly broken his left leg. Basically he needs to be rescued from Flers hospital after he has had surgery tomorrow.

Now, at the memont I have been advised not to undertake any long journeys as I am still recovering from surgery..........however it appears that I shall have to go out with our son and fetch him home.:eek::eek:

    I am not a happy bunny.........:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
