    morning all!

    damp and foggy here!
Off to work later and sleeping in - dont like doing this but the extra £25 will come in handy, got it earmarked to pay for my christmas meal out with my Tap Class.
WM is on, got ironing to do. Have mopped kitchen and bathroom floors.

DS2 and his girlfriend are travelling down to London today - I'm a bit nervous for them as they've never done it before and they had to catch a bus at 7am from Hereford to London and then need to get 2 tubes. They are visiting a friend of hers who is at uni in Kingston then travelling back tomorrow night. I shall try and not worry all day long. He's promised to txt when he gets to London and also when they get to the friends place.

Redruby - glad your Dad seems a bit better x

    NPM - (((hugs)))

JackieO - would love to be a fly on the wall when your sil gets his suprises!:) what a lovely caring family you all are x

off now to wash the dye off my hair - I look a fright!:D

    take care all x

Taplady, try not tp worry about your son and his girlfriend, I know it will be hard not too. But they both have mobiles and the tube is very easy to use. the train run often the stashions are very clean And there is normaly someone around to help you work out what line and what train you need.I went down to london a few years ago on the train. I need to use the tube while i was there which i had never used before i found it very easy. I was also very shocked by how clean the tube stashions were. Im use to our train and bus stashions here in the west midlands :D.
From what you post about them they sound like they have good heads on there shoulders. I bet they will have a great time down there so while they are away why do you tret yourself and do something nice for you:)

Good morning campers ,dry but chilly day here in north Kent.School run this morning, only one more week before we spring the suprise on my son-in-law.
I am so looking forward to seeing his face as its the last thing in the world he would think he would be getting .my DD said she is going to buy a small really naff gift to give him first thing in the morning with the childrens presents and say 'sorry its not more but with me being out of work for a month its all I could get 'Then after she takes the kids to school (she's managed to get a day off) she will say oh here a card for you .I have mounted three things on three seperate coloured cards So he will get his first envelope which has a green card with a picture I googled of a Southern region train on it .underneath it says This is the train you have to catch at 11.10 with your wife for suprise no 1
When they get on the train she will hand him the second card which has a googled photo of the hotel they are staying in over night that night .This is mounted on a blue card and says 'you have to book into this hotel by 2.00.p.m.'
After they have booked in she will give him the final card that is in gold with a googled picture of 'We will Rock you' on it and it says be here at 7.00.p.m. to pick up the tickets for the show
Before they go I shall go to their house to pick them up to run them to the station .I shall give him his birthday card and a big brown envelope In it is bookings and train tickets for him and two of my grandsons to travel up to Liverpool and stay overnight in an hotel and tickets to see the Liverpool-v-Fulham game on 18th December. Both he and his two boys are devoted Liverpool supporters, yet have only ever seen them on t.v. and have never seen them play live at their home ground.I think he will be more than suprised and the boys ,one of whom Ben is 15 two days before they go on the 16th December will be so excited .The youngest one Henry I think will just decombust as he lives eats and sleep Liverpool.
I am so pleased that everything has slotted into place and it will be worth ever penny just to see the look on his face.
I think I am as excited as they will be.He is a devoted Dad to his kids, and would never think he would get to see his beloved Liverpool at AnfieldMy friend thinks I'm nuts but I think its my way to say thank you to him for all the care he has taken to my DD over the past few years .She had a rough time when her first marriage broke up and she couldn't want for a better husband than the one she has now, plus all the care he puts into looking after both the children and even me as nothing is ever too much trouble for him.
Today I have my history fun class this afternoon with fellow history nuts so I'm looking forard to that.I hope everyone keeps wrapped up warm and has a good day
    Cheers chums

  • Afternoon all

Well, I've finished my last ever placement, and now am on holiday until I start my job in January :j. I can't quite believe that three years of hard work is over and I'm a mental health nurse!!

It was a bit sad leaving, but when I had a good think back, although it was a brilliant placement, I wouldn't want to work there and feel that the place I'm going to is better suited to me.

OH called on my way home to get rescued as he'd taken dad's car to Leeds and it had died. It's now so old and tired it's just not worth repairing, so it'll get scrapped, and they'll have a lease hire car in the new year. Good job we've got 2 cars so they're not left high and dry :)

Apart from that, OH is going away in a few hours for the weekend, and I'm going to bed :rotfl:. Nothing to eat in the house, so no tea, but I am going shopping tomorrow. Will probably emerge to watch Corrie :o (I kow it's sad, but it's also not something which needs a lot of thinking about) and then return to bed. I pity the dog really, she'll think we're hibernating!!

Hugs to all that needs them.

    T xx

  • Just back from history class and as usual we all had a good afternoon.I think I'll have fish & chips from the freezer tonight.bung it in the Remoska until done then wash up quick and settle myself down to watch the t.v..Cold damp and 'orrible here I just brought my washing in that has been on the line all day it seems damper than when it went out but at least its had a slight blow.I have put it on the airer in the conservatory to dry off over the next few days .better than having it hanging around indoors.Uni tomorrow morning10.-12.00 then I must start to wrap some Chrismas pressie's.Keep wrapped up warm chums its pretty nippy out, curtains are closed to keep the rooms a bit warmer.Heating is on full blast to warm up the house ,luckily once its warm it satys warm for quite awhile.
    Have a good evening folks,
    JackieO xx
